Rising Star
How I got here..

Most important thing to me: PERSONAL FREEDOM. Couldn't stand people in constant control of my life.

This "Self Discovery.. Spiritual Journey.. Freedom Journey"
I actually took notes along the way that represented milestones. Slightly humorous..

Taking time off work for time to think and relax (instead of partying, bar hopping, clubbing)

The movie Interstellar

The COSMOS (Netflix documentary)

The Inexplicable Universe (Netflix documentary)

Art Museums, Art Galleries

Road trip listening to Joe Rogan podcasts across the country

My first Tool concert

First Acid trip

The movie "Enter the Void"

This quote "Being human is like being a leaf. You need water and energy to survive... But I can think.
My thoughts have always ended up as "what's the point?"
Then I realized I'm connected to the tree.
The tree is the universe, not just my human family. "

The Spirit Molecule, documentary on Netflix

Cool music...Wait a minuet... No Jimi Hendrix?? WTF MAN!!
Welcome and
May the force be with you!

I love Hendrix, just hasn't ever really been part of my main lineup that I listen to weekly.
...still doesn't justify not being on my list I guess..

Welcome.

It seems that at 24 years old you're closer to your spiritual goals than I am at 29. I envy the opportunities that you've had and the fortitude required to do the things that you've done and it's good to have you here.

PS. Interstellar was also a "WTF" moment for me too. I don't usually cry at films, but that film got me right in the feels.

New one for me! I've never dove into the Grateful Dead experience.. Feel like I should be ashamed

I have a long way to go, I'm only skimming the surface of something that seems infinitely deep.
I read your trip reports and I can relate to your hyperslap.
I've been aware of the term "ego-death" for some time, but DMT has been that experience for me.
Glossolalia has helped me come to terms with it through some discussions, and presented this quote:

..."You will feel like a onion: skin after skin, subterfuge after subterfuge, is pulled off to find no kernel at the center. Which is the whole point: to find out that the ego is indeed a fake--a wall of defense around a wall of defense...around nothing. You cant even want to get rid of it, nor yet want to want to. Understanding this, you will see that the ego IS exactly what IT pretends IT isn't." ~Alan Watts

And I can describe the way that feels through this quote:

"Enlightenment is a destructive process. It
has nothing to do with becoming better or being happier. Enlightenment is the
crumbling away of untruth. It's seeing
through the facade of pretence. It's the
complete eradication of everything we
imagined to be true." -Adyashanti
