What an obscure question 
According to 'New Sources of Ergoline Alkaloids within the Genus Ipomoea' (1993), both their study and one previous study found no trace on ergoline type alkaloids in I. obscura. Some of their positive test results were for species 1/10th as potent as I. tricolor, so its fair to view their negative finding as a good indication that I. obscura is not useful.
