Perhaps the participants are planted with idea that they may encounter deceased relatives, and once in a psychedelic (vulnerable) space,are easily guided into experiences that seem valid.

In my spiritual world view, that which is "us ", the actions, thoughts, ideals and personage that one develops during life is no more than a "suit", and is shed like so many dirty clothes after death, so that whatever the divine spark within us is travels on the the creator energy.

You, which is a personality which was slowly built up since your birth till now will be lost forever. Your very essence will continue and return to where it came from, but it isn't you. It's something immaterial and indefinable. Although it is part and foundation of you which is self, it isn't you. So, yes. Technically, after death, this is it. It's over. You, I.e. John Doe will be gone forever. And remain only in memories of people who used to know you.

Personally while it may be offensive to some, i agree fully with what art has said here.
Seems like a business tactic or some kind of deluded cult like practice to honestly believe oneself is a high priestess re-incarnated directly from the divine & has been granted some special powers.

I have not had mucb interaction with him, but what I have seen when he comes out to play like he has here has always seemed real to me. It may not always be what the person he is responding to wants to hear, but it generally seems to be the cold, hard truth coming out when it is what is needed most.

Tough love if you will, a reminder to be aware of not only ones positives, but also of flaws & delusions as well.

Edit: to clarify, especially in the "high priestess situation" open mindedness can be exploited when not kept in check, whether that is intentional or not, someone is exploiting the fact people are coming to them with an open mind to manifest things into their experiences & gain a sense of power or control over what a person may experience outside the context of a ceremony.
Things like this spiral out of control, people refuse to acknowledge their own delusions, get a thirst for power & draw in those who are easily manipulated & things continue to snowball until they are put in check.

Agreed.
Personally i find spirituality in DMT but not in the sense of "finding god" rather in the sense it seems to expand awareness into new areas, making life feel more immersive & enjoyable, letting me lose myself in each thing I do & fully experience the finer details that would otherwise be overlooked even in things like taking a walk, driving, or interacting with others.
It breathes new life into reality in the Times when things seem to get dull & monotonous.

I think this thread could be much more interesting if we widened the scope. Why does DMT have to be in the mix for us to experience deceased loved ones? In my family there is a long history of relatives making their presence known after they pass on. I have even experienced it myself.
