Looking at Laser on wall while on DMT?!

Hm, nice. My friend has a full set of variously coloured glasses, for therapeutic and diagnostic use - or goofing around at his place of a weekend.
No shure ...but colored glasses might also have an effect on your ;;;closed eye visions ;;; ..if your opening then closing your eyes while wearing them while tripping ?

ive read that red lensed glasses creates a warm sence of calm ...a relaxation color for the brain...

It might be fun to try the open-close eyes game (for want of a better term) while having someone swap over the coloured glasses for a different colour - or not - each time ones eyes are closed. While tripping - or not - of course.

Ability to and speed of colour identification could be measured under a variety of mind states, on top of any subjective effects, were one to fancy playing science.

AI Overview

Yes, red lens glasses can promote a sense of calmness in the mind and body
. They achieve this primarily by blocking blue and green light, which helps reduce overstimulation, lowers anxiety, and prepares the brain for rest by supporting natural melatonin production. They are especially effective as a "relaxing" tool in the evening.

Here is how red lens glasses can induce calmness:
  • Circadian Rhythm Support: By filtering out almost 100% of blue and green light (400–550 nm), red lenses prevent the suppression of melatonin, the hormone responsible for sleep, allowing the body to feel more relaxed and sleepy in the evening.
  • Reduced Overstimulation: The reduced light spectrum decreases sensory overload, helping the mind "switch off" after intense exposure to screens or artificial lighting.
  • Reduced Anxiety/Improved Mood: Some evidence suggests that red light therapy can help reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, creating a calming,, or stabilizing effect on the mind.
  • Improved Sleep Quality: Users often report better sleep quality because of these glasses, which is directly linked to a calmer, more rested mind.
Important Considerations:
  • Context Dependent: While they can feel calming in the evening, red is typically associated with energy and stimulation in other contexts. Their calming effect is specific to blocking high-energy, stressful light at night.
  • Research Varies: While they help with sleep, some studies suggest that the effect on overall mood can be subjective or minimal, with some individuals reporting limited impact.
  • Different from Blue Lenses: While red lenses are excellent for evening relaxation, blue lenses are often cited for immediate calming, reducing anxiety, and improving focus during the day.

I wore green colored glasses to combat winter depression (SAD), and it surprisingly worked! After about 45 minutes, I would spontaneously start laughing for no reason. When I took them off, I'd still be in good spirits...
That's great, and rather interesting. Green glasses would make the laser experiment (even more?) pointless, however :D

It reminds me of an apocryphal story (usually told by old people who claim some uncle of theirs did it long ago) about a man who put green glasses to his donkey so the donkey would eat sawdust thinking it was grass :D
I think the best kind of colored glasses would glasses that .... [wrap around like sun glasses]......because it cuts out all external light!

It seems colored light has a strong effect on the brain.... there is also vast spectrum of diferent colored sounds ! i sleep to the recorded sounds ocean waves!

posible theory....The right color of lenses might?.... keep a person much calmer on DMT come up .... and even through most of the trip!

Strangely.... ive notice an improvment in my ability to get to sleep faster and stay asleep longer...in past week or so ... just from putting on m red glasses for 5 to 7 minutes before going to sleep.. not shure its connected...but posible!

Blue light receptor activation definitely suppresses melatonin secretion. It's no placebo.

another test would be to play some of the differens spectrums of sound colors while tripping or sleeping...
I wouldn't expect that to have any effect on the photoreceptors, but it's still worth experimenting. The names of the noise types are semi-arbitrary.

Has anyone else noticed better sleep after wearing red lens glasses at night?

I’ve always had trouble winding down at night, especially after spending time on screens late into the evening. I tried cutting caffeine, stretching, using sleep sounds — all helped a little, but nothing really changed the fact that I was still tossing around for 30–45 minutes every night.

Recently I tried something new: about 1–2 hours before bed, I started wearing red lens glasses while watching TV or checking my phone. I heard they reduce blue light exposure and help your brain realize it’s time to wind down.

It felt a bit unusual at first, but I noticed I started falling asleep faster — like within 15 minutes — and waking up less groggy. I haven’t changed anything else, so I’m thinking it might actually be doing something.

Has anyone else experimented with red lens glasses at night?
Do they help with falling asleep or improving sleep quality in the long run?

Makes sense because as @Transform pointed out, red lensed glasses prevent blue light from reaching the eyes and thus preserve normal melatonin secretion levels when worn near bedtime.
