Making 10x leaf

Migrated topic.

Is Coleman produced in both the UK and the US?

And Canada. I used it for a while, but ALWAYS freeze precipped, and even that left me doubtful. Our choices are limited in Canada, but I switched to Escort camp fuel, which evaps clean. I always freeze precip though.

For Changa I always use acetone which evaps clear as well. I am just finishing some 10x caapi leaf that I used 99% ipa for - wow is it EVER GREEN!!

What do you use to freeze precip?

I have some caapi leaf soaking in IPA. Is there any reason why I cannot use this on a different leaf blend?

I have electric sheep (blue lotus + calea) which is my preferred blend, but want to make it a "proper" changa experience. My plan is to strain the leaf out, and use the menstrum as my solvent to mix the electric sheep and DMT at 1:1. Will this give the desired caapi effect?

Can I also suggest making this thread a sticky, as the OP's tek to make 10 X leaf is useful.

Is there anyway of speeding up the 2/3 weeks soak? like gentle heating?
I'm just hoping to be using 10xcaapi over december/christmas & i haven't even received the caapi leaves in the post yet

Im planning on evaping the 10x onto peppermint for smoothness...

If you really are in a hurry you can order some caapi copy from fv or harmaline/harmine from http://www.harmalashop.com

Those both look great, have you tried them yourself at all?
Any suggestions for amounts in a standard 1:1 mix?

Before all of this i'm going to try some spice on plain peppermint, then try some on plain caapi leaves to see if i notice a difference & what kind of difference it is

I just feel theres a way of stretching out the experience without altering whats actually going on in the experience, just like if you watch a fly buzzing around the room while meditating it can be seen in slow motion, yet the flys still flying the same way, your just perceiving it slower.

edit: i also just found this BANISTERIOPSIS CAAPI

1:3 (caapi copy: dmt) is a good starting point imao.

edit :

You wouldn't want to smoke caapi vine and anyway this shop is waaaaay too expensive.

I just read Dorge saying that the leaf contains no/less harmaline than the vine (which can cloud the experience) so i think i'll be patient & make the 10x leaf extract, thanks for the suggestions.

Can anyone tell me what weight of caapi extract you would expect to get from making 10x leaf? SWIM recently made some changa with 7.2g spice : 7.2g leaf. Added to this was the "menstrum" from 25g of soaked caapi leaf. The result was a total weight of 17.5g when dried.

This would mean 12% of the caapi leaf was extracted into the menstrum, does that sound about right? What have others found?

This result makes my blend 1:1.2, not 1:1. I dont mind, it just makes it a bit trickier when measuring dose.

I usually wait for my caapi 10x (or rather caapi-vine enhanced muellein) to be dry before I weight it and add dmt freebase, I believe
patience is the key with changa.

Has anyone here used naptha instead of IPA to soak the caapi?
Isn't that ok?

Yes you can use naphta but you really have to make sure your changa is very dry before smoking it, 99.9% ipa or
95% ethyl alcohol seems better and much less toxic though.

What difference would this make to the end result? Havent you just put an extra step into the process?

Is 99.5% acetone okay?

I just evaped 500mg spice onto 500mg of peppermint, hoping it should be ready by tonight...

The first time i evapped, loads of crystal formed on the petri dish & didn't go into the herb, but i just redissolved them with minimal amount of acetone, let it run back into the peppermint & it looks fine now...

To anyone that just slow evaps IPA, SWIM has two blends soaking in the with lids off trying to evap. His wife doesn't want him messing with the rice cooker so he is doing it the slow way. It hardly seems to be evaping at the moment, however he just added a mark to one of the jars to see the progress. He used 91% IPA so there is some water in there that will be slowing things down. He is fine with waiting assuming it won't take many months. However perhaps he could use a hair dryer to blow on it every once and a while to help it along? Or maybe put the jars in the oven with the door open at a low heat?

Just a thought!
Shouldn´t it be 90g of leaf evaporated onto 10g of leaf if you want to make 10x caapi leaf and not 100g onto 10g as the OP suggests? That would make it 10g of 11x caapi leaf the way I see it.

I use a desk fan to blow onto it. It speeds up the process a bit.
