making wash water from poolstore bought sodium carbonate

swim found a decent sized bottle of sodium carbonate at a pool supply store (CHEAP!), it claimed to be '100%' sodium carbonate

swim doesnt own a pH meter, and seeing as how he is dreaming of STB tek, he isnt about to get one-

he has been googling trying to find a ratio to make pH 9-10 wash water, some of the links mention anhydrous sodium carbonate, others hydrated (though not in solution). Swim assumes the sodium carbonate is probably hydrated, but is unsure.

anyone venture a guess as to what would be a good ratio for swim to make good washwater?

Check first post Here for amounts and pH's. Also it is quicker to put your Bicarbonate/ hydrated Carbonate in a pot on top of the oven ring and heat on full for about 5 mins to make anhydrous.
