Marijuana potentiation idea

So I have heard before, and experienced myself, the way marijuana effects people under the influence of a strong dose of MAOI's such as Harmala alks. The idea I had is this, since Harmalas can be vaped, if you have a harmala tincture and add drops of it to say a joint and let it dry for a few hours to evap the alcohol, would those harmalas then be active through smoking the joint, adding a more magical effect to the marijuana? Or it could be torn up and vaped as well.

i really love taking a solid dose of rue, caapi, or extracted harmalas orally and then waiting around until things start getting psychedelic, and smoking cannabis. It is a really wild and interesting combination

harmalas in almost any dose usually help with the anxiety i can occassionally get from cannabis as well

Will the idea of soaking the joint in the extract solution or dripping it onto the joint and letting it dry be successful? I assume it probably will not taste very good

I am no psychopharmacologist but I do some reading, and according to some various asundry internet rumors which appear to be backed up by some people doing some solid research, THC seems to affect a release of endogenous phenylethylamine. Whether this is true or not, I don't know. But I can see how it would be a possible mechanism of THC being potentiated by harmalas. Also I realize that harmalas are pretty specific for MAO-A but I personally have experience potentiating mescaline with harmalas, and mescaline is definitely not a tryptamine.

So I gave it a shot, and not too much happened. Im writting this after just smoking a joint that I had put harmalas onto. I have a liquid alcohol extract of 5x harmaline, and I took the dropped and dropped some along the whole joint until it was soaked. I let it dry, and repeated about 3-4 times. I let this sit while I went and ate dinner, then came back and toked up. I do feel more of an effect then what I expected off that amount, but its not to much of a difference. I also feel very very warm now that I think its fully hit me. Im sure I didnt add enough harmalas to have a significant change, maybe only 20-30mgs with the small amount of liquid I added.

I would assume that if I did this for a longer period and added enough for say 70-80mg, which is usually enough to inhibit MAO function orally from what I have researched, the experience would be significantly different.

Did you notice an effect in how the joint tasted? more or less a curiosity.

Did you make the 5x harmaline or purchase it? I have no experience with tincture made from harmalas, but from the experience I have with tinctures, you're probably not using enough, you mentioned you used a dropper and dropped some along until it was soaked and repeated, can you estimate how many drops/ml you used? Perhaps if you used a similar technique for making changa to make harmaline infused cannabis? I suggest you pay closer attention to dosages instead of "Dropped some along until it was soaked" and repeating, I've personally had better experiences with measured doses of any type of tincture, as opposed to simply eyeballing.

The taste blended nicely with the rest of it, and there was about 1ml which contained roughly 70mg.

I was planning on trying some extracted rue alkaloids with cannabis in the near future. I don't know if I want to get "uncomfortably" high But I think it will be an interesting, and most likely potent, combination.

I'm now playing around with the idea of combining Salvia officinalis with cannabis as well. Anyone have any experience with thujone potentiating cannabis? Wormwood, etc.?

I bought a load of herbs yesterday for making changa, one of which was passiflora incarnata which, out of curiosity, I loaded into my new bong and fired up a large coneful of. I smoke weed and/or hash on a daily basis so I'm very familiar with the effects, but there was definitely some sort of potentiation happening within about 20-30 minutes last night; increased mental clarity and a clear sense of expanded awareness were noticed, as well as an increase in creativity although I'm not going to say that this is 100% due to the passion flower. I didn't take any notes as I didn't really expect much from it, but I'm going to experiment further with this once I get my milligram scales through and see what I can find out.

I got some white caapi vine this morning so I may try a few different experiments and report back if I find anything interesting.
