DMT and psilocin mainly act on the 5ht2a receptor, wich is believed to be responsible for a large portion of their psychedelic effects. (There are some other receptors that are suspected to play a role in psychedelic activity as well)
But there also is some activity on the 5ht1a receptor. Substances that are active on the 1a receptor only, are known to cause such memory blanks.
So i think that maybe you either take such large quantities that the 1a agonism realy starts to kick in, or you just happen to be much more susceptible to these effects than most people.
This at least would be my guess, but ofcourse there may be other, better explanations.
