Mescaline acetate expiry?

Hello.

I did a mescaline acetate extraction using 69ron's limo method almost exactly a year ago now, since then the substance has been sitting in plastic baggy inside an old VHS case inside my wardrobe in the dark/dry.

My question is will the substance still be active and safe to ingest, should I throw it away and do a new extraction or should I just go ahead and take this batch, I would hate it to be a waste.

mescaline wont degrade

to be safe, add it to boiling water to sterilize before consuming
