Monotropa (Ghost Pipe) as a Trip Killer?

I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge regarding Monotropa, or Ghost Pipe flowers, being used as a trip killer? I attended a ceremony where I was given a tincture as I was having a really bad experience, and the facilitators said it was Monotropa. However, I cannot find any reference to this being used as a trip killer in my research. TIA

All I can say is this is likely to be a result of the anxiolytic properties of Monotropa uniflora.

Was there anything that you felt you could take away as a positive from your difficult experience? What made you want to bring it to a premature close - assuming the tincture was effective?

Thanks for the response! I would say the ayahuasca has offered me lots of positives to take away, it was more so the facilitators and lack of care they exhibited that made it a bad experience. It was my first time taking aya and I was given way too much, didn't experience any effects for 4 or 5 hours and then very suddenly blacked out and was in the strongest hallucinatory state I've experienced. I thought I was losing my mind so when they offered me the monotropa I took it enthusiastically.
