Naptha Separation Issue?

added warm naptha to a mixture of lye/mhrb which has been sitting over night.

400g lye was added to 500g MHRB in 3000 ML water stirred for several hours and let sit over night

200 ML warm naptha heated to 130 degrees F. added to mixture

Stirred for a half hour, all was well, seemed like it was working pretty well, naptha looked ok.

Stirred for another half hour, and the layer of naptha was virtually non-existent except for a very thin layer barely noticeable. Added more naptha to the solution and stirred, mixed into a sep. funnel.. now it will not separate again inside the funnel and it is all junk. Just need to put it into the tray to dry... why won't it separate?

It is common for the pH of your solution to drop when non polar solvent is added. Add more base, and add more each pull if you need to. That's all you need to do.

It sounds like you might need more water too, I typically use 3L for about 300g of bark. at 500g I bet the bark sucked up all the water, so the naphtha is going to be difficult to seperate, add more water, at least 4L, or until you see your naphtha, and more base like house said

You're going to need to add at least another 5 liters of water.
No need to add more lye.
