Good afternoon! So I’m having a problem producing crystals. Because I’ve seen many ask questions, and following are responses of friends asking for an explanation of details I will just go ahead and spill it all out. I am new to this, having done a total of 6 extractions. I’m using a Stb method. My process is as follows
100g mhrb
100g sodium hydroxide
750 ml distilled water
150 ml naphtha
I have been making my base mixing the SH and water and letting it come to room temp. Next I add Mhrb and swirl 2-3 min then let sit 2-3hrs. I complete this 4 times. Add naphtha and swirl 2-3 min then let sit 3 hrs. I do this 4 times. Then I remove the solvent, put in freezer. Now….. the first two times I was very successful. Yielding nearly 2 gs however I was using powdered rb. The last 4 times I used bark. I grinded it myself pretty well. Problem is I am not getting any crystals with the bark. I even have taken it out of freezer and let nap the evaporate 80% then put back into freezer and still nothing. I also let it go back to room temperature then added back to base solution and tried re-extracting still with no luck. What am I doing wrong? is this happening due to me using bark instead of powdered bark?
