Hello everyone,
I never experienced sleepwalking or any other disturbing and worrying effects while on Salvinorin, and I“ll try to interpret why.
In traditional contexts, Salvia was never smoked (olny chewed/drank), and there may be a "scientific" reason for this: Salvinorin A is an extremely potent substance, being active already at 200 micrograms, making it only 10 times less potent than LSD-25 (!). Therefore, when smoking Salvia in any form (especially when smoking enhanced leafs), there is ALWAYS a danger of overdosing - or taking a dose larger than prepared for...
Traditionally, Salvia used to be taken with much greater respect than we can see nowadays on youtube... Smoking Salvia is a "western" method of ingestion which can cause a lot of problems (read/watch on internet). "Traditional" method of administration - sublingual absorption in silence and darkness - however, can provide a truly shamanic experience of transcending the boundaries of this world and of one“s ego, and offers time (cca 1 - 2 hours) to actually "work" with the experience...
I am not saying that smoking Salvia is a "bad" method of administration (it is maybe a more challenging one). What I would suggest to anyone determined to start experimenting experiment with Salvia, however, would be to start with "traditional", i.e. sublingual, method of administration. I never had, and never heard of, any sleepwalking... and/or other worrying and dangerous reactions when using traditional method.
- start low (6 leafs or so)
- in complete silence and darkness,
- lie down, and be fully open to what will (have to) follow
Let the world of Salvia welcome us amiably...
Peace and Love,
Michal
