Im currently doing pull 3 on my first extract. Im using the Q21Q21's Vinegar/Lime A/B Extraction Tek - DMT-Nexus Wiki tek(#2).
Im doing a 100g MHRB to test the tek and get familiar with the process.
My first pull yielded 0.324g but I could see there was still a lot suspended in the naptha which went back into the bowl for pull 2.
Pull 2 resulted in 0.284g.
Im currently doing oull 3 but I had to rehydrate the mixture a little because it had gone hard. I think the reason it suspended on oull 1 was because I topped up the Naptha, worried I was losing too much. (Lesson learned.) On pulls 2 and 3 I have had to add more naphtha at the beginning but didnt add any more during.
I dont think I stirred pull 2 enough tbh so I think there may be a fair bit left for pull 3. Only time will tell.
I know this isnt write home about yield but I am very pleased that I've extracted something on my first go.
Edit: Im half an hour into stirring pull 3 - and ive added more naphtha just because im frightened of not having anything left at the end to put into the freezer. Theres still another 3 minutes of stirring to go and obviously the warm water underneath is causing evaporation loss.
Is what im doing OK? It doesnt mention topping up in the tek so im worried im cocking it up.

Sounds about right to me. An ordinary fork can be quite handy for mixing the naphtha through the lime paste, seeing as you didn't mention any specific detail about that.
keep in mind that hexane leaves the naptha first, then heptane, so you may find it behaves more heptane-like, being that it is a poorer solvent, though that also makes precipitation better too. as a result it might help to add more shortly before the pull if your intention is just to boost the volume for extraction sake.
also, if you find emulsions to be an issue, or, efficiently extracting all the oil off the water, just take a nice clean bulky portion, then aggressively slurp up the rest, water and solvent, and put it in something like a test tube, and add a bunch of salt to it, or brine, and it will rapidly settle. its a handy way of stripping the surface bare if you have a soup that annoyingly just keeps having more to take so you have difficulty deciding when to stop, since each pull leaves like 5-10% of the solvent behind.
doing this in a seperatory funnel makes this infinitely fast and easy, especially if paired with literally any kind of vacuum pump, and sucking solvent up as you skim the surface of your hot soup with it, then once the funnel is full, letting the soup out, leaving clean solvent behind.

doubt anybody would remember me, was previously 'ozora' on here a long time ago!
I have a question which may well sound ridiculous but I'll ask it anyway in the hope of some advice....
about FOUR years ago I did three boils of 1kg of powdered mimosa bark in a A/B extraction. it was all filtered clean of any gunk. I never got round to finishing the process, ie reducing the 4.5 litres I stiĺl have in the 5L jerry can and adding the sodium hydroxide etc...
question is, if i was to do this now despite the very extended delay would it be worthwhile or would whatever goodness was in there have deteriorated or collapsed to a level that makes it a fruitless effort?

How about you try a small amount and see if it works? Got to be worth a test.

So after my work extracting and getting the DTV5 set up I finally got to try DMT for the first time. I'd like to share my experience if that's OK?
I took a 35mg dose thinking I would get the whole lot in 1 hit. The first hit was wonderful. I felt a warmth through my chest as my vision started to meander. I had a psychadelic image on the tv which started erupting glitter. Then I got the giggles. My wife sat with me and I felt a sense of contentment all over my body. It worse off after a couple of minutes. I felt it diminishing. I thought I would give another go on the DTV5 and actually had a bigger hit than the first one.
I remember the image on the tv. It was a YouTube menu for some reason. Very similar but more intense than the first hit. I properly got the giggles and remember my wife's breathing and micro sounds being really obvious. I could feel her watching me though which made me feel weird. I have ila distinct fear of being watched and judged, particularly at work or in large crowds.
Im ashamed to say that I reloaded with the same dose twice trying to blast off but I never did. I felt after 3 times, my experience was done for the day.
I do think I woukd like to do this by myself in absolute silence without being watched. Does anyone else feel acutely aware they're being watched?
I'd really like to blast off so I think ill sit by myself, tv off. Hit the DTV5 and close my eyes next time but overall I had a very positive experience.

Hey guys. I havnt been able to purchase a field guide as recommended by another member, although today I came across a flowering acacia that looks to be obtusifolia as it flowers between nov-dec in NSW and im just north of sydney.

A search for "Acacia fimbriata" turns up some results, so it's good to try spelling variations - and also to get a grasp of the orthodoxies of taxonomic nomenclature in order to assist with this.
