Opinion on the "immediate effects"

Now something like smoking salvia or DMT or injecting, well anything (I've heard... f***ing just gonna trust what people say!) producing immediate effects in <1 minutes is understandable scientifically, biologically and what have you.

Orally taking things that have onset times of 20, 40, even 120 minutes I tend to get rather significant effects from in about 30 seconds or so that (at least to me) resemble the mental effects of the substance at the peak and come-up and differ with each substance. The LSD ones are much different than the Mescaline ones and are different than the MDMA ones.

The most odd things is not that these effects happen like that but that they persist anywhere from 5 to over 20 minutes and what I've observed with Mscaline (P. Torch and San Pedro brew or resin) and the 2c-x family is that they fade almost completely before the come-up starts which with mescaline can be at T=+1:00, T=+1:30 to even T=+2:30 sometimes. (Lower dose tends to take longer for me)

I have thought a bit about it and it could be simply placebo. I have had very similar effects when I decide to take something then decide to cook some food beforehand then during the food cooking I get an odd buzz not dissimilar to the immediate buzz after taking it, but I didn't take it.

I don't know, I just took 12.5mg of 2c-b and of course my head has been swimming since <1min and after finding nothing on the first 3 google pages I felt like posting this.

What do you think, I think I've heard of my friends mentioning a similar effect though not the fading before come-up with mescaline.

Cheers

In regards to the immediate oral effects, I'm not quite clear what you're referring to. I may get little buzzes and feelings, but usually as I'm coming up, those feelings are intensifying and making themselves more present.

Every time I take something orally, I start to get a slight body high immediately after I swallow. Now, these are almost always in gel capsules, so I know it's not absorbing it through my cheeks/tongue/throat etc.

Knowing this, I'd have to say it's entirely placebo. Anticipation of what's to come sparking a release of some chemical in the body (perhaps endorphins or adrenaline, just a guess though).

It's a nice feeling for sure, but not necessarily what you just took.

If however you're taking something that is not encapsulated, and it is possible to be absorbed sublingual, wouldn't put it out of realm of possibility for it to starting to work in a few minutes on a very small scale (chewing/sucking on uncapsuled substances).
