I have had 80g of dried P.Torch in my freezer for over a year, and finally took advantage of a free afternoon to try House's resin tek.
I put 750ml of tap water in a crock pot on high. When the water was hot, I added the cactus pieces and kept the pot on high until it bubbled up, then reduced to low and simmered for 2 hours.
Drained and repeated twice with 500ml of tap water, for a total of 3 times, and 1.75L (-the amount absorbed by the pieces.
The liquid is brown and has little clouds in it. Are these clouds plant fats as I suspect? Are they normal? No filtration was done, as per the tek.
I did a fourth pull over night with 750ml water, as the cactus was still a little bitter. It is slightly yellow and translucent. Is this worth evapping?
The tek says lemon juice is optional, so I opted not to add any. Would a last pull with lemon yield any more?
From 80g dried torch, how much resin should I expect?
I have read that approx 10-15g is a good dose? Can anyone corroborate/refute/add to this?
Thanks in advance.
