great day today!

pleased to join here, please forgive me on my lack of DMT knowledge.

the local town is covered with what seems to be phalaris tuberosa/aquatica, not 100% sure thou.
have a look:

this really brings all attention to this plant, trying some kind of experiment extraction would be great but knowing little is problematic. seeking through several fourms, with different members, reports, and answers.
reading about gramine is kinda of unsettling as well.

beginners questions...
is this p. aquatica,
should one cut this plant in a certain season?
is there a way to store this grass?
what is the difference in a/b and stb methods, what do they mean,

sorry for being so vague,
thanks for your time!

A/B is acid to base.. acidifying the solution to turn the dmt into salts then your able to defat the solution before basifying where naptha will pick up the basified salts now freebase. when working with mimosa defating is not necessary so you go straight to base or STB. i would cut when tallest if you can wait but after extreme stressing followed by a large rain fall. im not sure it's p. aquatica but id give it a go anyways haha

thanks for that!

the grass is newly growing and most haven't really took off yet, they are about a foot max.
questions are circling in my head, several sources explains not to use phalaris because of its contents and difficulty, from just reading around . . .however, there is so much of this stuff here why not give it a shot.

some quick links

these are just two of many, but these look best.

Q:
what is the grasses max duration in freezer,
should grass be in plastic, paper bag or etc. while in freezer
what parts of the plant do you want to keep,
how much grass for 5 - 10 hits?

>i would cut when tallest if you can wait

oh so they are most potent at this point?

>extreme stressing followed by a large rain fall.

not sure what stressing is, but it rains here a good deal.
oh, and what is chromatography, sublimation mean

great day to all!

the grass can stay in the freezer indefinitely.
sublimation and chromatography are separation processes; the former separates compounds by their boiling points (vaporization and recrystallization on a coldfinder), the latter uses a column packed with silica or alumina gel, to separate by size and/or charge.

these grasses have other less desirable compounds.
one should separate these compounds to isolate the spice goodness. it's not mandatory, but the final product would result a more pleasant experience.

avoid the QT tek; from my understanding, it's obsolete and ineffective. the marsofold tek is popular, and swim prefers the Vortex tek. although, the grasses likely need a defatting step, so an A/B is probably a good idea

this thread has renewed interest in the grass. SWIM will do an extraction on the grass soon, and post a method for it.

SWIM is glad to read that grass will and can be prolonged to whenever. excellent, should SWIM just pull the grass right up from the ground? maybe a washing step is needed before freezing?

>one should separate these compounds to isolate the spice goodness.

you mean the A/B stage?

>the marsofold tek is popular, and swim prefers the Vortex tek.

have looked at both, vortex pdf is qiute a read.
these two listed methods can work for grass like it does for MHRB?
but just make sure to add a A/B defatting step somewhere in the process, is this correct?

this caught an eye earlier, any thoughts on this guys tek?
SWIM can not post on that yet, not enough posts is possibly the reason for restriction.

SWIM would like to trying smoking it, if thats relevant.

forgive SWIM for still learning!
thanks.

no washing will be needed. you'll filter anything anyways.

and i wouldnt smoke it, the toxins would be smoked. but stressing is not watering or clipping the leaf ends for a good amount of time

well SWIM really wanted to smoke this as compared to other methods.
most threads people end up with white crystals, is this the final product with phalaris as well as MHRB?

SWIM wants to try this asap,
thanks

>MHRB extractions are cake, especially STB. getting white crystals from it really isn't a big deal.
phalaris extraction is more involved, since it has other alkaloids and plant lipids. getting white crystals from that would be more impressive.

ohhh k, this is great information.

will need to learn more on what to expect out of this grass, this tryptamine cocktail is most inclined to become a muddy state?, as in contrast to the white crystals one could see on google images.

reading more on bufo, gramine and other chem.s possibly in this grass,
different solvents are used to remove them?
hard to uncover a solution for gramine. as it were.

the extraction would likely have a resinous texture. the compounds can be relatively easily separated by boiling points. an IR therm (these can be acquired for around $30) can be used to monitor the temp of the heated glass vessel, and the product is collected on some sort of coldfinger condenser. this can be improvised like so (in this case, a filtration flask is the vessel, the coldfinger condenser is a test tube with crushed ice)

the money one spends on root bark could be spent getting equipped. grasses are free in most areas.

its good to read that solvents can be avoided, will use if it needs to be, but rather avoid if it can be filtered with boiling.
this now rules out the need for A/B? gramine & bufo can be boiled out?

>the compounds can be relatively easily separated by boiling points.

where can SWIM read more on gramine, bufo, boiling points

>crushed ice

dry ice?

>the money one spends on root bark could be spent getting equipped. grasses are free in most areas.

thats what SWIM was thinking.

when it do collect on the cold finger, what does it look like,
how do you remove it, is it toxic?

what would be the size and real name of a filter flask, and a heater it seems.
what part of the grass are you supposed to use?

SWIM is now off searching for a local science shop!,

edit: GRAMINE [3-(N,N-DIMETHYLAMINOMETHYL) INDOLE] gramine info says no boiling point.

anyone here tried this phalaris method?
need info on flasks, and what part of the grass to use!

kind regards.
