Product turning dark during drying.

My dmt has been turning from light yellow to darker yellow as it dries. I believe this is from oxidation of the dmt. Has anybody else had this problem and if so do you agree with me. I let it dry on an evaporating trey. :|

Yes, I believe this is what happened to my metaphysical alchemy experiment. how can we prevent this?

It isn't yellow goo. It is still crystally. It starts as white crystals and it gets more yellow as it dries. The yellow goo isn't my problem.

sorry for hogging your thread. my problem is this: light yellow liquid spice dissolved in vinegar --> oven dry = dark brown

I've noticed a strong color reaction to certain scrapers. Some will turn a bit of my stuff really brown

As far as the original poster, one may experience a light yellowing of the product as it is exposed to atmospheric oxygen (even when it is in a container if not air tight). And I, also, am assuming that it is the N-oxide of said product.

One may avoid exposure to atmospheric oxygen by drying the product in a vacuum dessicator, but who really does that?
