Another good one which is not included here is AMANITA !!
I don't know for you but when on a low dose of amanita pantherina, or when its effects are building up, I feel it a tingling sensation in my lower back and have usually very great sex after that. When i discover that i couldn't stop thinking the way this mushrooms looks is very phallic, the deadly ones are named the amanita phalloïds.
These days I being happy with this, but I also noticed earlier this year the bufotenin love power. Lots of other psychedelics distract me from that, including salvia divinorum, and there's few I didn't find to work on my metabolism such as damiana...

-Yep 5g peruvian torch is lovely for sex a couple or more hours later once its peaked, i.e. when you get home. For sensual, lazy sex (maybe with someone you're already confortable with?).
-To the poster who mentioned Bangalala- 1g in a tea definitely enhanced feelings of pleasure in the penis and enhanced orgasm. 2g didn't seem to increase effects and gave a bit of a headache. Not psychedelic whatsoever.

I tried that before and got euphoria from it. It was very pleasant. No other effects were noticed, but maybe the dose was too small?

What would you exactly like to know about it? The active ingredient in Epimedium sagittatum is the flavonoid icariin, a PDE5 inhibitor. PDE5 regulates the blood flow to the penis, and viagra (sildenafil) also works by a similar action. Icariin is also shown to mimic the effects of testosterone.

It also increases the production of the important signaling molecule nitric oxide. Icariin seems to be an anti-depressant and a nootropic drug as well, maybe because of the increased volume of bioactive nitric oxide. It may be very interesting to explore in small to moderate dosages in combination with entheogens!

For starters, what is a good decent dose and what is an overdose?

400-600mg is a standard dose of the industry standard of 10% icariin according to Erowid. Some web searchs showed products with 600mg pure herb, 250mg extract (10% icariin), 300mg extract (20% icariin), 400mg extract (10% icariin) and 500 mg extract (10% icariin). 1g a day of 10% icariin is considered a safe dose, without any reported adverse effects.

The only LD50 value for icariin I could find through a quick search was 80mg/kg for mouse. Assuming humans are giant mouse, which most of us clearly are not, that would mean 6,4g of pure icariin for an 80kg adult, or 64g of 10% icariin, is a lethal dose. I wouldn't take more than a gram and a half of 10% icariin without slowly upping the dose though.

By the way, prolonged use of icariin seem to decrease the levels of MAO. Icariin is not psychedelic, but it might be a good addition to psychedelics.

I've read 6-15g for horny goat weed, which I presume is prepared TCM style (simmered for 20 mins), although the chinese site (which was linked from Erowid) then goes on to recommend impotence dosing at 2.5g powder 3 times a day.

No real experience with any of the mentioned plants except E. sagittatum, but this is what I could gather from my notes and some web searches.

Aspidosperma quebracho-blanco (Quebracho)
Active ingredient: Yohimbine, a stimulant and a vasodilator.
Dosage: One site claims 50-250 mg with 0.3% alkaloids taken twice daily is effective as a stimulant.

Epimedium sagittatum (Horny Goat Weed)
Active ingredient: Icariin, a PDE5-inhibitor and nootropic.
Dosage: Up to 1g of 20% icariin, 6-15g for pure herb?

Jatropha macrantha (Huanarpo)
Active ingredient: Unknown, likely one or more proanthocyanidins.
Dosage: 2-3g daily or 3ml of ethanol extract of bark twice daily.

Maytenus macrocarpa (Chuchuhuasi)
Active ingredient: Unknown.
Dosage: 3-5ml of tincture of the bark 2-3 times a day.

Ptychopetalum olacoides (Muira Puama)
Active ingredient: Unknown.
Dosage: 2-4 ml of tincture twice daily.

It's not much, but at least it's more than nothing! All the plants seem fairly interesting, and most have proved efficiency as a male aphrodisiac.

Yeah, me too. Actually, I find every serotonergic psychedelic to have great aphrodisiac qualities in low dosages.

69Ron- I made a tea with 8 teaspoons of damiana last night (5.7g) and let it steep until it was no longer hot. I've tried 1g before to no avail. There was a mild relaxing psychoactivity that could plausibly be placebo. Once in bed, there was also a noticeable aphrodisiac effect. I don't think it was placebo, but it could plausibly be just down to the experience being different due to the damiana, making it more exciting.

If the aphrodisiac effect of horny goat weed does work in the same way as viagra (as Wikipedia suggests), then it might not affect a healthy male much, just as viagra doesn't affect a healthy male much (but shows significant improvement to someone with erectile dysfunction).

EDIT: What are the highest dosages of horny goat weed that you guys have tried? I only have 10g, which I'm cooking up TCM style right now. Debating whether to play it safe by drinking only half, or have the whole lot... if you guys have tried 5g with no effects then I'll try the full 10g. (I'm trusting you guys here because you're old timers. I don't have any medical conditions nor medications.)

The horny goat weed is crossed off my list. The 10g tea may well have made me feel a little more sensual (enhanced touch), but it actually reduced erectile quality. Made me drowsy and didn't feel particularly good. Barely psychoactive at that dose, certainly not psychedelic.
According to Herbal Glossary : Herba Epimedii the decoction (presumably TCM style) is 6-15g, max 30g, although "Chinese folk healers were reported to use 100-200g (10 times the common modern clinical dose) of Herba Epimedii decocted with squid and red wine as a treatment for bodily fatigue and lack of strength due to overtaxation".

But I find its definitely a pretty effective aphrodisiac.

LSA/LSH + Sex = frustration. Even if you're in the mood, it aint gonna happen. It totally kills erections. It's nice to give oral to your wife though while on LSA/LSH It totally kills erections. And SWIM is one who normally has sex for about 3 hours, but can't get his equipment to work at all on LSA/LSH.

this is incorrect. viagra does indeed effect a healthy person greatly. I have had no problems ever with ED. Taken viagra a few times, even years ago when it waa fairly new and I was in my 20s and it most certainly puts extra zing in your pants. That is 1 pill that does exactly what they say it does.

It's not 'incorrect'! I'm talking generally. That is what my good friend's doctors told him. He was prescribed it for ED, and it had no effect on him whatsoever, and his problems were concluded as psychological because he got better after a while on his own. Other friends have not noticed any difference either. Maybe you're like me- I did find it horny the first few times, but the novelty wore off after a while.

It can indeed make you hornier if you are in the right mood already, because it opens up the blood vessels to optimal level... hence why it makes many people's cheeks hot. However, a person who is not psychologically 'up for it' may still not be able achieve erection. You only get horny after taking viagra if the horny-switch in your brain is flicked. I have taken viagra and had sex that felt enhanced. I have also taken viagra and not been able to achieve erection because I was nervous or didn't really feel like having sex at that time. It can sometimes help with nervousness or to avoid brewer's droop, but not always. Something in your brain has to be into it too. There are two main male sexual organs. The biggest one is your brain. The second, your penis. Both must be switched on to achieve erection. That's my understanding, anyway.
