Purchasing from eBay

Migrated topic.

After reading this post, I realized that SWIM had already purchased several entheogens from eBay through PayPal. Do you guys recommend purchasing from eBay? If yes, then what payment methods do you use besides PayPal? Also, I would recommend stickying that post to the suppliers subforum, except I can't post directly there yet.

Why use ebay when we have many reputable vendors worldwide? Unless the item is specific to ebay I wouldnt use them.

Makes more sense when you put it that way. SWIM will share yields from entheogens purchased from eBay in due time.

Yea, i bought some entheogens off ebay once, i don't think I'll do that again. I didn't get anything bad, it just seemed like the wrong place to be buying from. Leave ebay for other things.

Ebay's good for unsuspicious stuff that isn't sold locally, that WOULD look suspicious if people saw me buying them alongside dried herbs i.e. Acetone, IPA, KOH etc.

Also I genuinely believe that the best plant sources aren't on ebay.

One thing I would to comment on, however, are the low prices: SWIM got 1KG of MHRB for $95 shipped. 1/4KG of Caapi for $50. Compared to online stores the prices are considerably better, as to the quality I cannot yet compare.

I'd avoid eBay mainly because its an open public network. I wouldn't trust it to keep your purchase history private. Where as a good vendor wouldn't give up your private info without a court order. ( hopefully )

I know cheaper, with assured quality ;)

Quite popular around here also!

Didn't find any prices better than that after looking at the Suppliers thread.. Any recommendations?

Jimjam is much cheaper than that, I don't see why you'd go anywhere else.

I was shocked the first time I used jimjam bark. For its obvious quality, the price is ridiculously low. There really is no reason to go anywhere else.

Well, JJS is supposed to be magical, but if you're in the US and don't want to deal with customs, SH is only marginally more expensive and tends to be of very good quality (and has extremely fast shipping).

I am in the U.S., so I would have to deal with customs with JJS?

BTW thanks for sharing!

Ebay seems the only place to buy live cactus at decent prices. I would not worry about large purchases of live San Pedro, Peruvian Torch, or bridgesii.

No problems with customs in the US. Orders arrive in roughly a week with no issues.

I think Snozz is saying there is simply the possibility of having to deal with customs, which is always something to consider.

Exactly. I have heard nothing but great things about JJS' shipping, quality and customer service. It shouldn't be a problem, but as mimosa is technically illegal under the CSA, it's always worth thinking about customs before purchasing from international suppliers (that goes for any plant matter that contains scheduled substances, not just mimosa).
