Panama red, Thai-sticks, Acapulco gold; strains i've longed for :(

after a conversation with my dad, i have to say im currently pretty disappointed. i've always wondered what the old pure sativas are like, never having had any access to them. where im from, its all about the indica/ indica/sativa cross, and yes, the taste and highs are lovley; unfortunatly, iv just got sick of them, gone well off the stone.

I really yearn for a lovley head high, the giggles, everything weed is best for. Sure, we i can get decent brick weed, but seems the people to get from arnt exactly the most approachable and the product can never be garunteed to be clean (something which latley has become alot more important to me).

so to all the old school hippies out here, the absolute bane of my pyschoactive endevours. What were they like? were they really worth the hype? how would you guys compare them to the smoke of today? aside from the head high/ body stone of sativa/indica.

and to all you growers out there, does anyone know any seed banks out there that still have the real deal? even to give me hope that the strains are still alive and well is enough for me. I have plenty of years to search, i guess id just like to know somewhere in this world, lies the fruit with high like no other.
 
the haze bros. original strain is still available and is 100% sativa. there are a few others as well but the haze is suppose to reflect the best 100%pure sativa quality's you are looking for.

keep in mind this plant takes up to 6 months start to finish so you wont be growing it outdoors unless you live in the right place near the planet equator. the plant stretches to over 8-12 feet so indoor growing is next to impossible with pure haze. this is why it gets crossed with indica's. you can now see why its so hard to find sativa's.

search- white haze, nevilles haze, original haze. last time i checked bros grimm carried these seeds but that was years ago.
 
Try some blue dream or sour diesel. These are legendary sativas that will blow your mind when grown properly.
Seed banks are famous for marketing their seeds with made up names.
If you can get these two strains, you will be pleased.
 
I have to agree with Olympus on that one. Any of the pure or even mostly pure haze strains will give you a taste of what you're longing for.

As Olympus also stated, haze takes a LONG time to finish flowering, but thats where the extra potency comes from.

You have to be careful when growing indoors because they can easily dominate a grow room because they grow so tall and spindly.

I know that one of my all time favorites is the true Haze x NL5

I believe it's still available from Sensi Seed bank.
 
If your plants get too big you can just trellis them. It's really cool to see a sea of green overgrown sativa's trellis'd and weaving with their huge nugs rising to the lights.
 
Olympus- what can i say, your always throwing out these pearls of wisdoms. as ever, very greatful.

8-12 feet though? ha ha, i knew it was possible to grow so large, but thats one hefty plant. i have no options but indoor, residing in england n all. im thinking indoor, scrog. id happily devote all the space and time i could to it, just to get a taste of the past.

i do like sour diesel, the taste is quite possibly my favourite out there, deffinatly the top 5. but still, the stone on it still is abit too far on the indica side for my liking.

good recomendations people, i think ill take heed and get to finding a couple new on offer. fingers crossed.
 
ok...swim said me you can look for some afropips sativa strains (it's a defunct seedbank,maybe last year) :cry:
aceseeds have really nice sativa landraces too
if you want something extremly sativa look for some thai lanraces..that will go flowering for 16 weeks :lol: :shock:
very good strains are tom hill's original haze,sam rhe skunkman haze if you could find it.. oldtimer haze and maybe some old school seedsman strains (haze) and maybe others
mmm kc brains has nice sativa tropical gene pools but often it seems that his seeds have bad germrate,anyway they 're quite cheap imo (kc33) etc.
panama red is good yup and god is cinderella 99 (mostly sativa) check maybe mosca negra's strain cos the original brother grimm's is unfindable in seedform
swim years ago speacking with mr nice asked him whitch strain was his fav..and he anwered it was pure thai landrace 😉
there're many sativas around but if you want the real deal you must search a bit for pure original landraces or hairlooms,durban poison is good and vigorous and fast too
 
you could grow nice landraces working hard fimming and scrogging them,it's a must :?
if you don't want an indoor jungle for your hyperspace jurneys exploration :lol:
 
i do love haze.
but kali mist is my fav sativa strain. i think its 90% sativa.
seeds should be easy to find, as kali has won many awards over the years...
 
yup kalimist original was 90% sativa i guess..than simon change it a bit in the '96 adding some more indica to it and it went worse,anyway it's still very good strain..if swim isn't remembering wrong there's a closer version of pre '96 kali mist sold as western winds i think it's sagarmathas swim is interested in their matanunska tunderfuck too.. 8)
 
unansweredquestions since you are in the UK what about taking the train or making a road trip voyage to Amsterdam? You are closer than you might think. There are some lovely sativa's that have been developed by the seed companies in Amsterdam like chocolope, and kali mist, and there should be lots of haze options as well. SWIM grew Kali Mist a few years ago in a large greenhouse and 2 plants took over the whole space, had to bend them over and enlarge the greenhouse - raise the roof. The finished product was amazing, sweet and extremely creative smoke, like drinking a few cups of really powerful coffee. Day time use only unless you wanted to say up all night. You can probably being back or mail yourself back some seeds. Good luck and I hope you find exactly what you are looking for.

SWIM's gotta second the thing about the chocolope strain. It is the only strain that actually reminded him how it is to have a HIGH-high and not a couch-high. Absolutely amazing.

You regularly have to trim these ones to keep them small. That will also increase their potency.

Indeed.

Have tried a bunch of 80/20 to 95/5 strains that I really enjoyed. Most of them give that High/High that I enjoy and can still do productive things with.

These are my favorites in no order really.

Grapefruit (really functional high high)
Blue Dream (just great, but less functional for me)
Durban Poison
Kali Mist
 
the spear shaped pheno of satori by mandala is the strongest sativa high ive ever felt. like methamphetamine and 2ci. clear head, psychedelic thought, motivation, synchronous thought cascades. shit is win. the indica phenos are the opposite. like lorazapam. so strong.
