Hello there,

It may seem like a stupid question but I couldn't find an answer... what happen if I don't freeze the naphta containing dissolved DMT? What if I just let it evaporate? Won't the DMT freebase be left behind to recover as powdered salts I could just scratch? Is freezing just a way to form crystals and to reuse naphta afterwards? Thank you and sorry if that has been covered up, link me... I am a mere humble newbie here. Good evening! :)

None of this please...there's no need...everyone was new to these processes at one point or another. There's no need to "beseech the almighty experienced people to shower down their wisdom on a mere humble newbie," that sort of power structure seems a lil antithetical to the experience, imo.

Spend some time with the wiki and the faq...peruse the threads...ask the questions you can't find the answers to and be a part of the community...we're all experts in some areas and beginners in others :D

Hehe I don't consider anyone almighty here! I just figured that my question was probably covered somewhere... and it was in the Wiki! Well thank you my friend for linking me to the right place! 8)

The reason to freeze-precipitate is because the product is less soluble in naphtha than many of the impurities, so it precipitates at low temps, while the impurities remain in the naphtha. If you just evaporate the naphtha, you will be left with waxier, yellow/orange oily crystals. For the first 1-2 pulls evaporation might be okay, but the product crashes out of naphtha very quickly (45 min to 1 hr) in a good freezer.
