REM paralysis

Migrated topic.
Whoa, I had it really bad having a nap a few minutes ago, it was wretched and scary.

Here's what I wrote down immediately upon waking

"2:30pm
holy shit. Woke up from a nap and a hardcore bout of sleep paralysis. It went on for probably over 5 minutes where I was exactly half awake and half asleep. Not in the sense of when you wake and you are 100% awake but drowsy though.

I remained calm and contemplative for the most of it and it is hard to describe but I'll try to.

Firstly I tried to get up, I saw my fractals on my wall and my desk but then when I went to a proned possition (seemingly) I felt like I was falling back into the bed. I could not get any image but the one I would see when I was lying down although it would shift and blur. I would then lie down and just try to rest it off.

I tried this 4 times I think and each time was the same. Each time I felt myself trying to wake up but each time and being forcefully pulled back down an unable to wake.

On the 5th time I tried and what was going through my mind was "Okay up until my psychedelic use I haven't had any fucked up problems with my body. What the fuck. This is starting to get really freaky."

Then I woke up and it all made sense and I exclain "FUCK, SLEEP PARALYSIS"

It was wretched and I remember having it once clearly before and I'd really prefer it if it never happened again. I'm going to look it up now."

I'm going to look some more-medical resources as well but I knew there was something on the nexus about it.

Whoa that was trippy!

The presence feeling is very common while in the sleep paralysis and other similar sleep like states so it's certainly nothing to fear, try to use this state to enter the dream world by just letting go and relax, but not too much... it’s just simply a tightrope between entering the dream world lucid or other possible weird states or just simply drifting off to sleep, just relax, but not too much :)

Many many years before I’d even heard of DMT I was able to induce WILD and Lucid dream states quite easily and did quite a few experiments inducing WILD and other sleep like states while also listening to certain homemade hemi-sync Monroe freqs & got blasted far beyond the DMT realms.

It was only years later after my first DMT trip that I was able to make it back to those spaces, Lucid/Wild can get unbelievable rewards if you put the effort in...

Waking up in a Dream Universe of your own creation is simply stunning... Sleeping has never been so much fun :)

Lucid, I very much agree! It is entirely possible to train yourself to enter lucid dreaming or sleep paralysis states, and it can be quite a blast (altho in my experience it does take some effort to keep from dropping off to sleep, and will not work every time). After all, why would one want to do it, unless it was kind of fun? And it has nothing to do with having or not having taken certain drugs.

What's more interesting is whether the medical community will ever find connections between being in these states and the presence of naturally-produced tryptamines in our body? I believe this is one of the projects Dr Rick Strassman is currently pursuing.

Yes, you can go in places way beyond where our favorite plant and chemical friends can take us. I believe it's our birthright as humans.
