I hate to waste a thread on this, and I am sorry.
People say that while doing a syrian rue brew, to brew 3 gs for 30 minutes, take out the water, and then do that 2 or 3 more times until the water/liquid is clear. But what does one do with the water in the first batch or two, re-use it somehow or throw it away? It seems as though the more potent stuff would be released in the first batch, making the tea less potent through each wash...am I wrong on this? and once again what to do with the water from the first two batches?
Thanks!

That part always seemed to be omitted as self-given, and maybe it is....
