Salvia cutting timeframe

Wondering if any salvia growers here can give me a rough estimate on the time it would take to be able to harvest cuttings from a 6-8 in. cutting.

I hope to get my hands on one soon and really want to start spreading live plants as soon as possible. I am afraid for the future of this plant and want to get it out to as many good homes as I can. I'm just wondering what kind of time frame I will be looking at.
 
I got a cutting, roughly 8 inches, three months ago. And due to the fact I keep the plants in a small indoor grow, I started to prune and take cuttings even earlier than gibran2 says.

Now I have a bushy two feet plant, and five well established cuttings, one of them a one-foot plant already. I might have taken three or four more, but I'm still working so the mother plant grows in the optimal shape.

Salvia propagates fast in good conditions.
 
indoors is never going to match what salvia will do outdoors. I am in zone 8 and my plants go outside for 7-8 months of the year..they grow insane ammounts in that time. When I bring them in I dont pay much attention to them I just make sure they get water..they slow down for sure durring that time but they do fine.

So, for people growing indoors I would suggest try growing them outdoors for the summer unless you are in the arctic or something..they should thrive as long as you keep them in filtered sunlight and dont let them dry right out..

You can get them going well indoors too, but I find that nothing beats the way they will just thrive outside.

Been growing them this way for 5 years without any problems. I have more dry leaf than I know what to do with..

something = being in a city without a yard, for instance.

I wish. Some day in the future I will be able to grow them outdoors. At the moment, a decent indoor is the best some of us can do.

Gibran, I've been salivating over that thread for a while now but I couldn't tell how big the cutting was to begin with. If I can ever get my hands on a cutting I will do some experimentation. I'm planning on taking a few cuttings and putting them throughout my house to find the sweet spot. I will definitely put some outside, I have seen some photos of massive outdoor plants.
