hello all,

In the other thread I made, this is the cactus I mentioned. Can someone verify for me the species?

It looks more like T. peruvianus but really the spines are so close together usually T. Peru is further spaced out but the spines look about the right size and it's got that blue tinge to it and i know peruvianus has a blue strain and is know for this. Pedro's spines are usually much shorter and further spaced out, so i'm almost positive it's not Pedro.

Here's a good thread you can look through...

Edit: It looks to me like the Macrogonus, i know iv'e seen that strain at wal-mart recently as a little seedling and the spines were super close together like that.

interesting feedback. I guess I won't know unless I try an extraction from it =/

Yep, it's really hard to tell but you gotta do it the old indian way and just test the waters, I hope it goes well. Don't forget to do a report on your experience, i'm very interested to know what effects you get. :)

Any chance of a report on your extraction process?
I am also interested in doing one somewhere down the line :)

Of course I will. I'm leaving to go on a trip out west at the end of this week, so in about a month I'll post back hopefully with positive results.

For now the cactus is in 3 pieces. I'm going to plant 2 of them and attempt an extraction on the middle piece. I'm going to keep it in the freezer until I get back
