Rising Star
Recently, during an outside vaporuasca journey, I turned on Shpongle's Nothing Lasts album, beginning with "Outer Shpongolia", and letting it play on earbuds while I lay in my meditation hut and smoked hookah, completely in shamanic ectasy...this album seriously guided my journey, it seemed as if the energy coming into me was using all the layered beats/hooks/melodies in the music as a platform for delivery, almost creating a visual field of electrical circuits and pipes bursting with energy and information, as well as creating a human feel to it as well...Shpongle is crazy man, the sounds in their songs are amazing...for example, In "A New Way to say Hooray", you can actually hear the flies buzzing, and the feet stamping and dancing in the dirt, as the trees and foilage whisper into the beats...the way this duo gets their message across is Absolute, with a capital A.

I just figured that right now, Simon and the Shpongle crew are representing hyperspace at a VERY respectable level, with intelligent music that is warping minds, melting faces, and warming hearts all across the globe. I was wondering how other Nexians felt, and if you guys like them, any other suggestions on totally great songs to journey to by them?

"like a madman sitting in a dark room seeks the light to chase away the gloom, i lost my mind but my feelings are true, everything i do i offer to you"

one of my favorite shpongle tracks. i think its titled no turn unstoned.

shpongle really re excited me about music at a time i was feeling pretty bleak about new material. ive seen simon play dj sets here in portlandia twice. great shows with a great crowd.

Shpongle is great. If you like listening to trippy things, I highly recommend checking out Terrence McKenna & Zuvuya's music; especially
'Dream Matrix Telemetry' -- it's almost an hour long.

[youtube]

For some reason the ones on youtube are only around 25 minutes long, while the mp3 is 53 minutes long.
There's a torrent titled 'The Terrence McKenna Audio Archive (2011)' which includes this track, as well as others.

Shponlge = Musical God. He has truly mastered the style of music that he plays.

If you like shpongle I suggest checking out Shulman and Bluetech too. Shulman is similar to shpongle, Bluetech is different but also very lending to a psychedelic experiece

yes i seen shpongle twice within the last 6 months amazing.

i agree great guiding music

i also really like shulman and bluetech
carbon based LFs as well.

and solar fields for when i need really ambient stuff

The shpongletron is amazing....can't explain how much more amazing it is than watching on youtube....Dude,I am swim, that TM jam is pretty damn cool!!! Olympous mon, that song is easily one of their most eerie, yet insightful tracks....

simon posford is truly a great Artist
some of my friends call him a prophet ,

shpongle all the way
the music is really trippy , the album nothing lasts is truly one of the best
to me shopngle feels like a psychadelic army marchpast from heaven , shpongle is intense

also try checking out celtic cross , kaya project , ocelot's lounge album , hol baumann ( also an amazing upcoming artist ) , some tracks from total eclipse are also very dark trippy indeed ,

there are some psybient torrent dvd on the internet , truly great collection

Shpongle is playing LIVE in NYC on october 28th. I have seen Shpongle may times, and his DJ sets are amazing, but this is something else entirely. He will be performing with a band! Violins and chelos and of course drums bass guitar keys etc.... AND Raja Ram will be there!!! Raja is the amazing flute player in all of his songs! Also meeting Raja is what inspired Simon to make music like Shpongle. Before then he was only DJing as Hallucinogen which is also amazing but much more intense psytance. If you haven't heard any of it its definitely worth checking out.

Oh also, this live show is on Simon's birthday... sure to be some crazy stuff going down on stage

My last two breakthroughs were to Shpongle songs (DMT and Connoisseurs of Hallucination), and I must say I have a better memory of these trips than previous ones, which may be due to the instrumental nature of Shpongle's music. At any rate, their music is excellent and I am very selective about what I listen to.

I really like the quote from his song when shall I be free (which is why u can see it in my signature).

I interpret it as I as in my spirit, my very being, will only be free when "I" (the ego identified I) recognizes that I am not my ego. I am the silent awareness in the foreground. It's hard for me to put into words but perhaps people who have had similar thoughts understand what I am getting at.

..for slightly more intense works by these artists, i posted this in LSD Playlist few weeks back...

..this was an acid dancefloor (original goa) classic back in '94
The Infinity Project - feeling weird
featuring Raja Ram now in Shpongle (along with the very talented Graham Wood & Martin Freeland), the track was inspired by first smoking DMT..
(3 minute point is cool!)

this is a classic too The Infinity Project - stimuli
engineered by Simon Posford c.1996

oh, & here's their all-time DMT trackego shredder, also engineered by Posford c.1996

Wow, the nexus is awesome! So many shpongle fans. The music really does guide you, and touches everything. The Herb Garden by TIP is another great one. Thanks for that post nen, I will deff check out those oldschool ones. And SWIM im excited to give the dream matrix telemetry a go soon too. Im not sure if im allowed to post links but I have link to download the soundboard/live recording of shpongle at Bisco 2011. I just listened to opening song Divine Moments of Truth and its amazing! I got chills. I saw shpongle dj set last year and that night changed my life, had a kundalini experience after the show.
I would love to give you guys a recommendation aswell, check out Dymons, the album Druids Brew. It's psy shamanic guide music that is seriously powerful stuff. Similar to shpongle, it opens channels of information and energy. And when listened to with the aid of entheogen's is completely indescribable. Another group with the same person (Daniel Symons) + another guy is Cosmosophy, the album Organic Space Age. And those guys plus a few more make up the The Peaking Goddess Collective, album Organica. Heres a taste
Hmm... not sure how to post vids but here are links.
Dymons- Gathering of lights

The Peaking Goddess Collective- Hyperspace

Count me in as a MASSIVE Shpongle fan!! :D

I would love them to come to Europe and tour here, that would be absolutely great! I think Shpongle has treated their US fans fine now, and after the live concert in October...Europe would like to get SHPONGLED!

To me their first album is the best. It is timeless and I can listen to it over and over again.

Great! The album is a seriously potent brew haha. Listening to it on L and mushrooms actually caused my body to like physically transform....I couldnt even close my hands I had so much energy rushing through them. And its always produced profound visions.
