Hello,

i've heard yesterday, from SWIM (so it's that called this guy?) he takes inhibitor mao before vaporyzed dmt. He said, dmt is working much longer than similar smoking. What is Your opinion?

Best regards

MAOIs can definitely prolong and potentiate vaped dmt, but in my experience, the prolonged effects of the MAOI is generally unpleasant and typically not worth the slight increase in effects from the dmt.

SWIM is used by people who don't want to say "I" inferring that someone other than themselves is talking or being talked about. We don't really use it here because it's rather pointless. Most people who SWIM at the Nexus haven't been here too long.

Many people prepare and smoke changa which has the smoking of the MAOI built into the experience. Many people swear by this route, but it does slightly alter the character of the experience, and I typically preferred to see DMT for itself. I guess I'm what you could call more of a purist. How much longer it lasts is going to in part depend on the dose of the MAOI, the dose of DMT, how the MAOI was administered, what the time interval difference is between consumption of MAOI vs. DMT, and sometimes just plain randomness and "luck" it should seem.

When MAOIs are at play, there tends to be something of a delayed start. Whereas normally smoked DMT may come on within five seconds of inhalation, that may be expanded to 20-30 seconds. Herein lies a certain danger of going to smoke more when all you really needed to do was wait. It could be twice as long, could be less and could be more. When you have a breakthrough experience, these can tend to be drawn out a bit more. The longest experience I think I ever had was 40 min, and that was something of an exceptional peak experience in life. I stopped using MAOI with smoked experiences after a very cooky encounter with a bizarre entity. Of course the MAOI could have had little to do with it, and that fellow may have shown up if I simply smoked DMT, but it spooked me a bit.

IME, it doesn't so much make the trip "harder" but it does prolong the peak somewhat and one can breakthrough on a slightly lower dose. It *might* double the overall length of the experience, but I have only experimented with this in myself and given the distortion of time dmt tends to elicit, it is difficult to say for sure. That being said it certainly makes the trip *feel* quite a bit longer.

IME, vaporising freebase DMT after MAO inhibition (in my case 30mg DMT via GVG in a single inhalation after moclobemide 300mg orally) extended, modified and amplified the experience imparted. I tripped a lot harder and was deeper in hyperspace than ever before for 25-30 minutes with unbelievable OEVs for a further 25 or so minutes. The difference between 30mg DMT with and without moclobemide onboard has to be experienced to be understood, IMO. If the rabbithole goes further than that trip, I really don't need to know about it.

The pro-points of moclobemide are its efficiency at reversibly inhibiting MAO-A and its remarkably clean profile compared to the harmalas.

This is very true. Harmaloids tend to produce quite a heavy body load and that's why I'm not a huge fan of adding to the vaped dmt. The said, I've found that a high body load can be helpful in eliciting very powerful hallucinations (something to do with the brain manifesting the pain visually, I guess), though it can also give the trip an unpleasant nature if you're not sufficiently prepared.
