so my buddy tryed blasting off last night with .05g and i think he fucked it up. he used "The machine" , i think too much heat got to it and vaporized it before he could even inhale it, he took 2 hits off of it but barley got anything.
he got alot of the familiar body sensations and a buzzing sound in his ears. also colors and patters in his closed eyed visuals but he didnt feel like he got launched out of his normal conciseness. i think he is doing to much already. in the past 2 days he has done it 4 times with only 1 really good breakthrough. how can my friend better his chances of getting all of the spice to enter his lungs?

thanks for any help, im new here so i am sorry if my grammar is a little off.

thank you that was quite helpful, my friend noticed his heart rate speeds up and his breathing gets quick and shallow even before he hits the pipe, because his mind knows what its in for lol.

also my friend has done it 5 times in the past 3 days. Do you think he is abusing it? should he take a few days off? Because the last 2 times he did it, it wasnt that strong. I read online that you only have to wait an hour between launches, but does your body build up a tolerance to it at all? kinda like with L, where if you do it 2 days in a row you kinda just like, ok ive been here before. not much different, kinda boring. Does it get like that with spice? Just curious

This is normal. Your friend knows (or thinks he knows) what's coming and how intense it is. He doesn't know if it's going to be good, bad, or something in between. The best advise I can give to your friend is to relax and just accept whatever comes his way. He should meditate beforehand, clear his mind, relax. Relax and let the experience, whatever it is, come to him. He's asking to have it, no? Why worry? Nothing can harm him in hyperspace. Read the following thread for more tips: Pre-flight Anxiety.

I don't think he's abusing it, I think he's working on his technique - which is good. There are times when I work with it a couple times a day for a week - then nothing for months. I go to it when it feels right and I hear 'the calling' to visit hyperspace. Learn to trust your gut feeling. There are times when you put the pipe to your mouth and 'something' tells you to stop. Listen.

Safe travels!

Haha that diagram is awesome house. That diagram actually helped me a few weeks ago when I was feeing anxious about tripping. I think it gets easier hitting all that smoke with practice. SWIM was telling me that you just have to think about it in the right way (ie "taking it to get fucked up" is a bad idea, tends to end in a bad trip), however going in with a mindset that whatever happen is going to happen. SWIM has done DMT multiple times and says the anxiety is there, just it becomes easier to go where you want to go in hypersapce. I've only done it 4 times and have yet to "breakthru" fully yet.

And this. Have a reason to go. The elves appreciate it.

Hi a1pha, you said it, intent is where it's at. SWIM finds that meditating on intent before a journey prevents that really awkward feeling  of not having an answer for the, "Why are you here?!?!?!?!" question being screamed at him by a swirling, angry colored entity  during a dmt blastoff. And that is a good thing!

Hi lookatme, SWIM hasn't yet tried The Machine, and is still saving for a GVG, but he has consistent blastoffs using a regular pot pipe with either changa or weed layered around dmt like a sandwich. It's not as efficient as other methods, but reliable nonetheless.

Hi House, thanks for the diagram, it's succinct, complete, and pleasing to read. Your avatar and writing seem familiar from another forum where many an hour over many a year has been spent lurking and slurping up information on cacti and dmt and other things, oh my! If it is you then thank you for that knowledge too!

Good travels to all!

Aside from the mental/spiritual positioning and aim prior to, during and after the journey, are you sure your smoking tek is working properly?

I had this little hand-held vaporizer that worked similarly to the VGs but for some reason it had a tendency to only work *sometimes*. Even with the GVG initially I couldn't always get a proper experience because of spice melting through the screens or whatever happening. It takes a little tweaking and a little figuring out how to really get the most of your smoking device. Personally I like getting it all in in one hit, and by now I can usually do it consistently, unless there is some kind of internal hesitation that prevents me from doing it right.
With the GVG I pull on the pipe until I see the misty substance filling the glass chamber. Then I exhale to get my lungs as empty as possible and then I torch it again and pull as much as I can. This way I usually get a breakthrough with 30mg or maybe even a bit less, because often I don't even manage to pull it all in, despite my lungs still having the capacity...

lookatme, if you don't intend to abuse the spice, if your intentions are aimed at something else - be it curiosity, enlightenment, healing or whatnot, then the frequency of your use will regulate itself, tune itself to those needs, especially if you listen to your inner self. Sometimes taking longer breaks can be very helpful for working with psychedelics, sometimes taking a break doesn't feel right at all. Sometimes doing it often for a period of time is just what you need. Sometimes it isn't.
It's important to differentiate where the impulse to use or not use comes from though IMO. Is it fear/hedonism that is propelling you, or is it a deeper part of your being, a wish to learn/grow/overcome/explore/heal/feel/connect..?

I know some people don't feel comfortable buying or being in possession of an oil burner, because of what some drug users choose to put in them...but if you have no qualms with spending $5 to $10 on one, they last, especially if you use a torch lighter. With high quality DMT no residue is left behind in the chamber.(besides from some DMT vapor recrystallizing in the pipe, who doesn't like that? :p)

I find for me, smoking DMT in an oil burner is easy and fool proof once you're showed how and practice a few times. I can breakthrough with 30mg if I inhale the whole dose at once.

Yes indeed smoking spice is hard. I find there to be a steep learning curve though. So once you get it down, you should start to see much more impressive results from significantly smaller doses.

There's really nothing difficult about using low doses for meditation. Remember, you don't always have to push the bomb button to your heart.
