sodium carbonate washing

Migrated topic.

My friend's elf is just looking for a bit of quick advice. He knows what he's doing, just doesn't want to fugg anything up.

He was going to dissolve some Dmt in 300ml naptha, get about 300ml distilled water and put a pinch of sodium carbonate in there, put it in a plastic bottle with a sports cap, shake the whole thing about nicely, remove the water layer by squeezing it through the cap and then washing it again with 300 ml clean water.

The elf wishes to know if quantity of spice makes any difference to how he should perform this operation. Aka, will he be able to put about 3-5g of spice in one wash. Also does this operation simply nuetralize trace elements of lye or does it go some way towards purifying the product from trace plant material aswell?

Thanks for the help

The amount of water and solvent will be relative to the amount of dmt. Use enough solvent to dissolve the dmt, use a quarter (by volume) of carbonate water to solvent.
Its tricky with tiny amounts.

Any residual lye will go into the water because it is not soluble in naptha. Plant oils and any water soluble crap should also migrate into the water, of which the dmt wont travel into, because it has more of an affinity to the non polar solvent then the slightly basic water.
