I was unable to find this answered anywhere else.
I am doing lextek on some acacia bark. I have just performed the defat so ended up with about 1L of acidic solution.
I then added 100gm of Lye and mixed it up but no colour change happened. Everytime i have added this lovely stuff before I have had instant colour change to black.
I checked the pH and it read about pH 11, so i added another 100gm and the colour is a slight milky colour but the pH is now about 12.
Is this normal to have no colour change?
