Storage of mimosa / spice

So PerPLexed just Recieved his first SHIPMENT of 1.7kg of mimosa hostilis.
What would be a good way to store the mimosa until it is used? How long will it remain potent for?
When it becomes spice, how long will the spice remain good for and how should it be stored?
 
Yep, cool, dark and dry.

One further measure is vacuum sealing.

SWIM uses a pump'n'seal to vacuum seal her jars of mimosa, caapi, chaliponga, and a plethora of other herbs.


She says she's even able to use it on her small spice vials.

All that's required is that the cap makes a tight enough seal with the container.
