So I have been brewing caapi and chaliponga together in one brew since I started brewing..but I have noticed quite consistanly that when I brew caapi only brews they keep way way longer..never seem to go off at all actaully..but whenever I plan on drinking with admixture it starts to smell bad or rotten after a few weeks..I usually brew more than 1 dose..so I end up throwing parts of the brew away if I dont drink it all really soon..wasting it.

Has anyone else noticed this? I think it has to do with the fats in the leaf..I bet mimosa would last much longer..and I always refridgerate my brews..I guess I could freeze them.

I just finished brewing 2 doses of aya..one for tonight and one for sunday night..but i brewed the caapi and chaliponga seperately so I can just combine how much I want right before I drink..so in case I dont drink sunday as well at least I know for sure the caapi brew will stay good.

Yeah just freeze em. The most I'll keep my brews in the fridge for is a week.

Make sure you get back to us with a good report.

Enjoy!

AFAIK you can still drink a brew when it gets a bit sour ... I've had brew that has just been kept in a cool box for quite a while. This stuff was quite concentrated though... and it had a horrible sour taste to it.

really? you didnt get more sick than usual?.I guess it could be reboiled as well..maybe I threw out some aya I could have used..oh well I will freeze it from now on after a week in the fridge anyway to keep it fresher.

no, not at all... it just tastes worse than usual.

I once did that, and the stuff had somehow lost a lot of power then. I think you cannot store ayahuasca for too long.
Three days is the max, if you ask me.

you can def store ayahuasca for very long.. I've drank old ayahuasca that was super potent.. There's plenty of churches out there that receive periodical shipments of ayahuasca that last for quite a while, its not always a new brew...

The only thing is to boil again to guarantee that any bacteria is killed or also that any alcohol from fermentation evaporates.

In any case storing in well sealed containers/bottles in the fridge is always the best
