Its hard to know weight of powder/crystals by looking because density can vary widely.

How much mimosa was it and how big were the pulls? Maybe the naphtha just wasnt saturated enough and hence why not so much is crashing out. Again, I would suggest evaporating all that naphtha down to a quarter or a fifth of original volume, or basically as much as you want as long as its plenty, and then re-sticking in the freezer in coldest setting for, say, 12 hours.

According to the tests of some people here, dmt doesnt vaporize until over water's boiling point but I think just to play it safe it would be a good idea to go quite lower than water's boiling point. Also, be careful with heating flammable solvents. I never had one, but as I understand, a crock pot is electrical, meaning no open fire, yes? But hopefully neither any chance of electricity sparks.. I dont know if anybody here in the forum can chime in regarding this, but I think if there are no electrical sparks it should be ok.

Another option (both can be used simultaneously too) is using a fan, but again, careful with dust, maybe adding a very thin layer of cloth on top if you use a fan.

I usually put it in a pyrex baking dish and put it in front of a fan for awhile.

I've had some mishaps reducing solvents with heat that makes me reluctant (mostly broken glass and yield losses).
If I had proper lab equipment I wouldn't worry as much.

Just use a dish with lots of surface area and a little wind.

IMO it's not going nearly as smooth as it could. Follow the advice you are getting on this thread.

I also recommend that you read up a bit on how to properly freeze precipitate and how to evap/dry out your goodies.

Let me offer a bit of advice.

DRYING
take your time.
Do not use any form of heat at all to dry out you freeze precipitated spice.
It comes out much drier and crytally if you dry it at room temp or below. If its warmer than say, 75deg, then IMO its too warm. Get a small fan to lightly move air around it this will help get rid of the excess naphtha. DO NOT USE HEAT TO DRY OUT YOUR SPICE. Youll just fuck it up.

FREEZE PRECIPITATING
Once you have combined all of your pulls into a jar, take the lid off and let it evap or reduce it down by at least about 50%. This will ensure that when you put it back in the freezer you precip nice crystals quick, in less than 24 hrs.

Doing this properly and getting great results requires patience. Dont be in a hurry. When you rush things you get sloppy.

Think about why you want to get involved with DMT, What are your intentions? Are you just in a hurry to get high?

There should be no rush.

Read up a bit on some "How to" info in the WIKI. Follow those steps to the letter. Take your time.

SWIM is no longer in a hurry. SWIM will wait to obtain scales. So now that SWIM has an more idle mind it popped into his head that butane maybe a better solvet? SWIM uses it to extract oil from his trim. It boils at barely above room temps and evaporates in minutes. SWIM uses it often and is able to decant several ounces of butane at a time.

For SWIM it is just a way not to toss trim into the fireplace. SWIM never does it indoors and it is ZERO F outside. SWIM thinks at his age comfort is always going to be a constant in the equation of diminishing returns. Betcha didn't know about that kind of differential calculus?

I used to love the honey oil that could only be obtained by butane. Using the same sort of method on powdered MHRB could possibly produce some beautiful results.

Maybe if you use a drytek? SWIM has a steel pipe with 3 small holes on the bottom and 1 in the cap for introduction of butane. Regardless of how fine the contents are ground, SWIM has never had any leaf material come through the screen.
Being much faster is probably the only advantage, but would be crazy more expensive.

I have to agree with brother Ice shaman , You need to to take your time , I absolutely understand the incredible anticipation , I do, But It is far to remarkable and astounding an experience to rush into, you really need to have your head together for this one brother.

Dont go to a rock show and do this , sit in a very comfortable and safe environment (like your studio or bedroom), with or without a sitter, and explore this miracle molecue , imo, and you know Im a long time head , it's just not the right situation, I wouldnt waste the experience in a parking lot.

in regards to a sitter, I personally dont like it, I can never let go when someone else is in the room, even my long time GF, however having her or someone in the same house is a nice feeling in case something happens and I need assistance. just not the same room.

but thats me , you may find otherwise.

MANY Props Shaman! You are completely right! SWIM wasn't sure he was capable of TEKing. Now SWIM can't wait to try several of them.
As far as a sitter is concerned...I have been blown away by reports & thought it most prudent to have someone. SWIM doesn't really have a "someone" I can trust to remain "cool" especially if I make whale noises. Any of SWIM's former enlightened entities are over 60 and whose former enlightment has dimmed through the years. At least SWIM is concerned about some if not all of his current friends becoming judgemental.
Hopefully I have come to this place with an open mind and an even more open heart. In my heart of hearts I think I have peeked behind this curtain before at some time and place. Hard to explain, but I feel like I have been to where many of these trip reports have come from. I think it is more than vicariously experiencing these realms.

The thing I seek more than all other things is a sense of humility and a greater sense of gratitude for all things. Even without the experience I am feeling these things rising in me like they haven't in years.

I have also considered going to a remote private lake where I ice fish. There would be no outside noises or distractions. I thought about a morning (not too far below zero when the sun is rising). I wonder what the conception of such a "white out" experience might be.

I would suggest , and this is only my gut feeling, that you should be in a safe place like HOME for the first time.

I had to comment again about the idea of doing this at a show , Im sure its been done, however I just thought about my last breakthrough, which was months ago and still resonates quite strongly with me , I REALLY cant imagine having that experience then going into a concert.

Imagine if you will: You take that Third toke, its a BIG one, You hold your hit like a champ and when you exhale, you are greeted with a vision of a brilliant entity, red in color surrounded by rainbow colored shimmering lights and is magnificent to behold , this entity has four arms , and he glides above me , he folds his arms into a square shape, his demon like devious smile and sparkling eyes staring down and without words he shares with me the intent on showing me something special, now his folded arms create a telescoping funnel, which telescopes down into my head, and he begins to pump glorious information into me.

I can see words , glyphs, every known symbol and all the ones we dont know, all colored in shimmering gold and absolutely perfect & brilliant, they funnel into me at the speed of light,my body is in convulsions (when I realize I had a body I was already coming down) the information I received is intense and I am left flattened into my bed like an elephant sat on me, my head feels like something is moving around inside and I realize that I just had a meeting with a divine being ....and he gave me something miraculous...

- Now tell me your gonna get up , get out of your car seat , lock the door and stroll on in to see a show... after something like that.

smoke a big fat doobie and go see the band play my friend, save the spice for your own personal ceremonies , it is that amazing.

Many people dont weigh DMT after using it a while and getting a hang of their own DMT and its density.
But you cant say what a volume of powder is by eye, the variables are there and people should know this.

Each batch is going to have variable density to some degree, even within the same substance.


That aside, i think a lakeside is a perfect place for DMT as long as there was a sitter around.
My first time using DMT was in a dense old growth forest during a mid-summers morning with close friends.

I sat upon a log some distance from camp and my buddy held the pipe for me and minded while i had my experience.

This is the kind of security you should me looking for when using DMT. I have used high doses of LSD more times then i can count, and DMT is still several volumes more bizarre then that.

A lot of people say home is the best place, and while i agree to some extent i still feel that nature provides the best area for this stuff (with a sitter). Im sure plenty of people don't have a sitter around once they become familiar to DMT and while i accept that choice and have done it myself, i don't and wont recommend it.
There is just something about being out there away from reactionary people that puts my mind at rest. As opposed to being within the easily disturbed suburbia or inner city apartments that many of us live in.

DMT is an a strange one, it is powerful and has the potential to be the most ecstatic moment of your life. It can also become the darker flip side of that.

Hey Bro, my thoughts come through this like a steak through a meat grinder sometimes. SWIM was guesstimating yield. With it not registering on SWIM's scales SWIM had to guess. I will wait until I have an accurate method to measure.

Shaman, you are right again. No show for me. SWIM plans home for 1st "episode". I am guessing 20-25mg will keep SWIM on this side of the Chrysthantimum and break through as SWIM increases doseage. Is 20-25 mg's enough to break through or more in the 30-50 mgs??

yeah, Ya know I was actually really surprised how big a pile 35mg is.

a scale is the only way to do this in a responsible manner, however with Changa , it's a bit easier to just load up the vg and enjoy until you dont need anymore.

so, let me state again, it is WORTH the extra measures to make changa- for many reasons.
