Syrian rue report

Homework detention
Took around 2 table spoons syrian rue seeds yesterday. My body was so... light. I had the feeling I could run for hours and not run out of energy. There was no euphoria, but I felt calm. It felt peaceful. There was also perceptual time dilation, like everything was in 1.25x speed.

Effects wore off after 6-8 hours. I may take it again a few days later.

You could at least powder them in a coffee grinder. Even better would be cooking the powder in a cup of water for 30min (30ml water per 1g seeds) and reducing it to a shot.
At least you could soak the seeds in a bit of water overnight and chew them (drink the soak water too). What was your reason for working with rue?

I'm wondering if this can help me. Is this an energizing substance or sedative? Or dose dependant? I want help with my depression and sleep...

You can read up on MAOI and what it is. Rue is an antidepressant for sure, but MAOI cannot be used with most pharmaceuticals. You need to check for counter-interactions. Otherwise, rue is kind of an Eurasian ayahuasca analog. Taking it before sleep would most likely make you awake, but it balances sleep patterns in general. Try it out if you have access.

did you take the seeds orally ..... or make tea from the seeds?.....two tablespoons of rue was pretty strong dose...had you vaped some dmt on top of the seeds...... you would have been far out there!...
I took it orally. This was actually not my first time taking them, I took around half a teaspoon a few days ago but didn't feel much of anything so decided to quadruple it. I assume the reason why it wasn't that potent could be because they were dried? I'm not sure how drying affects the alkaloids in rue, tell me if you have any insights about it. Also, if you used syrian rue, I would love to hear the story of your trip, dosage, and its effects :)

Thanks for the tips! I just can't stand drinking it as tea, it makes me want to throw up. Honestly, I just used rue because it's legal, available, and relatively safe. Could you tell me how the seeds being dried affect the harmala in them by percentage?

Do an extraction then. No one is going to lead you by the hand here, so use search more.

They typically come dried, only few people have access to fresh rue seeds where it grows naturally. 2 table spoons is a hefty dose, swallowing them whole is not the most efficient way so in a sense you got lucky you didn't get the full effects. If that method and dose worked well for you that's great, but you might get an unwanted surprise if it sits long enough in your stomach. Grinding the seeds would be more efficient and reliable. Dose by grams, 3-4 g is typical for tea, a bit higher is needed for direct ingestion, maybe 4-5 g.

do you know there is a dosage limit with rue ....or you can make your self a bit sick...making tea from the seeds is ....one to three grams...[i never use over... 1 ..1/2 grams for tea.... and certainly not over 4 grams!...or you can get a little sick...for a while...

you can also get sublingual effects from rue seeds....[just put 10 to 20 seeds under your toung..... and the rue goes straight into the blood..stream...rue is very sublingual stuff......but chewing seeds and holding under toung... will work well but ... with sublingual you dont need a gram or two of seeds....start out at about 10 or 15 seeds and see how you feel....

I'll have to try this, though I don't like the idea of keeping seedy mush under my tongue. Maybe I could get the Pestle & Mortar out and make it more of a fine paste.

you really dont have to chew the seed..[although it would be stronger effect that way]...uncrushed seed also works ...if you want to see something funny after having seed under toung a few minutes turn on a black light... in front of mirror in dark room... your mouth and fingers will glow like a light bulb! its harmless though..:giggle:

Hahaha, I'll have to get a black light!

I take harmala hcl as a PRN supplement and also find it to be quite energizing. I cut off my definition of supplement at 80mg though, since once I get into the 120-150mg range it can start to feel ever so slightly overstimulating, especially paired with any tea or coffee. At that range I find it more comfortable to remain sedentary. In doses between 50-80mg it seems to be a good boon to cardiovascular exercise. Using it in conjunction with weight training is something I've yet to explore. For reference purposes my body weight has generally between 65 and 69kg (you can do the math to get the average).

If you plan on possibly taking harmala alkaloids on the regular, consider performing a crude extraction on your seeds. It is a valuable skill and beats the taste of rue tea by a long shot. If you are fine eating the plain seeds and don't get any gastrointestinal woes from them, disregard this advice. I know a lot of the alkaloids are contained in the outer part of the seeds, and truly have no idea how much more bioavailable they could get.

I'm rather new to Rue seeds and i'm enjoying taking them everyday . I'm not troubled by the taste of chewing them nor have gastro issues ...

It's funny how they seem to have more efficiency everyday whithout going up on the dosage ! I take from 1 to 3 grams in a row and take them with cannabis in the evenings , it induces a dream like kind of state and my sleep is much better now .

I'm waiting for Chacruna leafs and then get my first Pharmahuasca experience , very excited about it even though i'm not expecting much by having a low dosage for the first time . Just wait and see !

PS: Harmalas seem to have good effects on diabete and high blood pressure , so they say . That's exactly what i need ;)
