Syrian Rue tea and a couple vape puffs

Yes, I've always wondered about fasting from a spiritual aspect.

I had a shroom trip last month, 3 grams in gummie form, all in one go. But my stomach was so empty.

It was the strongest shroom/acid trip I ever experienced... everything plant/stone/wood related in my house came alive like a David Cronenberg body horror film, I felt the mercy of some form of plant spirit and I swear to god I purged a silver green bottle fly with red eyes that quickly escaped/flew out my house when it hit the floor... real stuff man. I couldn't believe it. Got more than I bargained for.
this is how i felt during my first big dose of mimosa lool. trust me friend you get used to the intensity just work slow and dont over extend yourself.

Rue can be rough on the body when your not used to it, i would say don't stress your body even more by fasting, personally i like to sometimes dry fast the whole day, and by night time i drink alot of water and a light meal then i take rue, i find this way i get the benefits of fasting without the experience being too rough.
and id advise to not do the tea because its horrible and you never get used to it.
Not necessarily, at the beggining i couldn't drink the tea without adding alot of cacao in it, now i can drink 8g rue tea without any cacao or sugar, but it took months, some people handle the taste better than others.

i agree. ive been drinking ayahuasca/oral dmt for about 4-5 years now and i never got used to it lool. i def prefer the disgusting unfiltered aya they give in the jungle over rue tea :ROFLMAO:

That is wild because those flies only come to/lay eggs on corpses, either it was a hallucination or a physical phenomenon altogether.
You know what's weirder? 2 years ago, I tripped out the most you possibly can on ketamine, I was watching The Evil Dead (1980) from an old dusty vhs tape and it was making me journey into my subconscious and then things got intense
- time slowed and eventually stopped, then slowly began going in reverse. I did panic, I did think wtf, I could not believe what I was experiencing. Then to add on top of it... a 2 foot maggot/worm came out of the TV (i was watching on an old CRT tv) and it went into my mouth and down my throat! I couldn't move, I was paralysed and trying not to be scared. It felt violating. That's the short version...

So then, last month, this fly came out of me! I kid you not. I'm aware that this was all on mind altering substances- take this story as you will.

another detail about the fly.

I'd just vomited. Cold sweat, returning from the toilet - i coughed phlegm by surprise and it shot out my mouth by surprise and hit the floor, the fly flew from that as soon as it hit the floor. It was a nasty green coloured phlegm.

ive had this happen only once on ayahuasca, i brewed a 100g batch of mimosa mixed with caapi and drank 1.5oz worth and as i was purging all over my toilet i closed my eyes and saw this intense visuals that looked like i was looking super close to a flies eyes i was looking at hundreds of different eye balls as i heard buzzing all around me. it was quite intense lmao.

I see on this forum there is a big emphasis on extracting the isolated alkaloids of harmala (harmaline & harmine) and acting that is the best thing since sliced bread. But actually the overall effect and experience of the harmala is lackluster.
I think I'm just a bit biased against pure harmalas (isolated harmala alkaloids), it took me a week to create them, and after 1.5 weeks of daily use, it was gone. Looking at pictures of the alkaloids, I imagined this would be extremely powerful/special or whatever label.
If on this forum there is some emphasis on extracts it's maybe because there are some reasons for it...
One has to be aware that extraction is never fully mastered from the first attempts and one never get the highest yield neither the purest powder out of it from the beginning. It's a process that requires adjustments over time. When I did my first extractions, I barely reached 3% yields and took frequently 400mg doses, which were effects wise what I get now from 200-250mg doses after I tweaked cleaning and filtering process. Nowadays when I take 400mg harmalas, it's sofa-screwed + insane tracers land.
Where our opinion diverges significantly is that, from my point of view and also experience, for a daily or near daily intake basis, extracts take much less work than having to prepare a tea daily (or even in advance for a few days). Most of the time taken by extraction is decanting phases that don't require one's presence. It's far from being involved a whole week in the process. And once done, you're good for weeks of just weighing -> administering the dose with any ROA.
Currently, my usual yields for refined extracts are in the 4-6% range. I extract 100g batches and get 5g clean harmalas freebase out of them on average, which provides me more than a month of 150mg daily harmalas. I'm currently on a 3/4 days a week basis, they even last longer. Not to mention a dosage accuracy and consistency you can't have with tea neither with whole seeds, nausea alleviating when sharing with newcomers and ready-to-take doses with any ROA (oral, sublingual, smoked). Less nasty taste (or even absence of taste with capsuled HCL) is another aspect of extracts too, although that's not the one that nowadays makes me prefer extracts over tea or whole seeds. I had teas for years, straight, and taste never refrained me to drink it, aware of the taste/benefits balance being largely in favor of the benefits. I always accepted it as part of the medicine.
These points are why some people emphasis on harmalas extracts. I don't think people using them say "it is the best thing since sliced bread", they just think the aforementioned points suit their specific needs better than other methods.
Maybe you shouldn't be so generalizing and dismissive because your experience with extracts didn't meet your expectations, and just consider every method has its pros and cons and everyone has their own preferences depending on their use and needs.

@Voidmatrix uses honey.
So do I. I still find it hard to take sustained runs of rue tea over multiple days - if I miss one day for any reason, the repugnant taste effectively prevents me from getting back into the rhythm of it. Last time I managed about ten days, although a forty day rue practice is a great way of getting to know the plant IME.

In terms of actual effects, I've found tea from ground seeds with a half hour simmer to provide the best balance between effort and (hard-earned) euphoria. I'm hoping to go for a two weeks on, two weeks off scheme, chronologically centred on the full moon to help me get through the upcoming winter.

One more thing to bear in mind is that not all Syrian rue seeds are created equal -some will be stronger than others, and their overall biochemical profile can also vary somewhat. Hence the advice to start with 1 gram seems wises to me, just in case you happen to get a particularly strong batch (>7% alks).

...Now I've just read what @The Sofa Traveler wrote, and that makes me reconsider doing some kind of extraction instead of the time-consuming daily brewing ritual.
