Over the years, a type of game using players voices has evolved organically in my life. I wish to share how to build this device with users of this forum. This device has been compared to a technological equivalent of a psy trip. A bold claim, but one user describes it as "Nitrous without the F*n Nitrous!"
Description:
Take a sensitive microphone, connect it to a DSP (digital signal processor i.e. guitar fx box) and use Y-splitters to connect as many headphones as you like.
They key lies in setting the DSP to have Echoes, or Digital Delay, ping pong the sound around your head. This is best achieved with device that has two separate delays, regular and tap, with regular set at 880ms and tap set around 287ms. Adjust the feedback to your liking, and you have a device that turns moaning or humming into a choir of angels. Singing along with echoes of your own voice sampled from seconds that have already passed, creates opportunities for unique harmonies and *big* sound. Making these sounds with others allows bodies to naturally phaselock and build on each others vibration. This combined with other technologies mentioned in this forum could create a beautiful spaceship for exploring shared innerspace.
A perfect device for this is no longer available, but found sometime on ebay. It is called a ZOOM 9003 PFX.
A device available currently is a ZOOM G1N ($50). The advantage to the PFX, is that it has a decent mic built in. With the G1N,
you need to supply a microphone, complicating a setup.
If this idea catches anyones fancy, please follow up and contact me, its totally amazing and worth looking into. This is technology that immediately makes sense and fascinates fellow members of the tribe.
I can, via email, help with setup if you acquire a unit. I'm also willing to send a unit ready to go, free (please send it back to me), to high ranking member who would explore the possibillities *with friends* and file a report with the forums in this site, that I as a new member do not have access to. Feel free to re-post this message to an appropriate thread if you will.
This is new and exciting technology for our time... helping us come (or go) together.... please consider exploring it further...
