Hi everyone ,

after long time i have done this tek again, just this time i used 200g of bark not 100g as usual. I have done all as before but now that i have naphtha in freezer the crystals are not forming. its been already 17 hours in freezer. i had to use much more naphtha about 500ml then usual since i had it in large bowl. maybe this is the problem.

I know dmt is in there and the liquid is now cloudy but still no crystals coming out. so my question is do i need to leave it longer or should i reduce the amount of naphtha and then put it back to freezer ?

Thank you

You could always try a mini A/B on the naphtha if you don't want to evaporate it. Wash with vinegar, add base to the vinegar, pull with far less naphtha, freeze precipitate.

Doubling up recipe quantities almost always seems to bring problems. It's probably easier just to run two 100g extractions side-by-side.

So i decided to evaporate that naphtha to see what is going on here. After few hours under fan this was left on the bottom. Its some kind of oily honey like substance smelling from indol so i guess dmt is in there but what happened?

I have done this tek so many times in the future and always got nice white crystals. The only difference was that i used 200g of bark instead of 100g.

Now this. What to do with it ? Should i infuse it ? Could it be contaminated ?

What do i do with it now , infuse it ? I wanted to use dmt for changa anyway

Still dont understand why i didnt get xtals in freezer
Just dissolve it in the solvent you'll be using for changa, but be sure to keep track of the weight of solvent you use, so you have a chance of working out how much DMT ends up in it.

Maybe your naphtha had aromatics in it, which prevent freeze precipitation (ethanol or acetone would, too)? Or you had too much naphtha to achieve saturation, perhaps?

I have put that tray in fridge and crystals started to form so i put it in freezer and i got some crystals. Not nice and white as usual. Maybe there was something in naphtha or it just pulled more then its should. Have a look.

Im thinking to put some more naphtha in it to dissolve it and then add herbs to it and leave it to evaporate. Question is how much of the dmt is there ? Cant weigh it with that oil.

Maybe do a re-x? If you redisolve in a small amount of naphtha, you'll have better chances of getting xtals with freeze precip.
For changa using ethanol or iso is more common

I've scaled up the q21q21 tek pretty high before, I don't think that's your issue. I would just save it and move on to the next pulls, and see what they yield. Maybe take a pinch of the bark mud in a shotglass of distilled water to measure its pH. After doing more pulls you can combine what you get with this mysterious oil and just do a mini-a/b on it all.

It may sound counter-intuitive, but you could try drying the dish while warm instead of cold. I've seen some weird behavior on a slide with molten DMT. As the melt cools below the melting point, it starts to crystallize. The crystals grow quickly while the melt is still warm, then once it got toward room temperature some crystals stopped growing entirely, and much of the melt just sat in liquid form for a day before solidifying in an amorphous way. Maybe very condensed liquids of DMT have trouble assembling. Maybe polymers tangling up the matrix

Update: i have redissolved all in little amount of naphtha and put it back to freezer and the redish stuff in little glass and in fridge. I got nice white crystals (430mg) and the rest is that gue or what ever you could call it with lots of dmt in it also. What do i do with that ? There must be another half gram of it also. Can that be used ?

I would re-dissolve the goo in water with just a splash of vinegar. Once it’s dissolved, re-base with sodium hydroxide, then pull with naphtha three times. Use a tall, narrow container so you don’t need as much naphtha. Finally, freeze-precipitate again to obtain a nice, white, clean extract.

i redissolved it in naphtha again and will get what ever there was left and thats it. This will be used for changa anyway. Thank you for your input
