Hi Again...

Not seen a post like this so....

OK I'm going to put a glass of water in the freezer to see how long it takes...
If a few people (Success Extractions) could do the same...

I'm hoping this will give people (and me) a better idea on how long they have to wait before pouring off liquid.

Edit
Water takes 1 hour so... My Spice needs 4Hours

For this it would be wise to make this a boiling cup of water. Just a slight temperature difference can probably cause some measurable difference in time.

Also the shape and material of the cup is important since that can serve as a heat exchanger and might cause a much faster cooling with again a measurable difference in time.

Kind regards,

I think more is going on then just how long does it take to get to a certain temperature. Like Traveler suggested, you have many variables that can effect that alone. Placement in the freezer (how close to the blower). Volume of water, temperature of water, surface area exposure to coldest area in freezer.

Even then, if you were able to instantly bring your naphtha down to the lowest temperature, would it all instantly crash out?

IR Thermometers are great ways at checking high/low temps of things you don't wanna be touching. Although not 100% idea for reflective or transparent surfaces, they can be made to work safely relatively well.

Thanks for the reply's

After 5 hours the cloudy naphtha turned clear... surrounded by a mass of pure fluffy whiteness!

after 8 more hours id say there was about a 10% increase in yield...

My Question
were the crystals growing "themselves' or just absorbing more dmt from the Naphtha around them?
if its the latter, would it be best to do "quick" freeze precips. And then redissolve the entire yield(s) in Naphtha, and leave that to freeze for days....

Or am I over-thinking?

P.S
STB 100g MHRB - 600ML tap water - 100MLCaustic soda - 100ml Newport
1st pull filled 1plastic baggy with pure white freebase xtals

A greater reaction? Once the pulls are completed heating the naphtha right before placing it in the freezer would only serve to take longer to precipitate DMT out if te solvent.

Also a "glass" of water isn't a unit of measure as far as I know. And elevation also makes slight variability in freezing times. Along with temperature of the container and placement in the freezer. Stuff on the top rack freezes harder than stuff on the bottom in my freezer.
