The American Revolution Began Sept. 17th

Migrated topic.
It really is amazing. I knew nothing about it until yesterday but I knew this was coming.

Actually, if I may ask, have any of you been feeling like something is going to happen or that something is happening, in these last few weeks or months?

I certainly have. My third eye chakra has been going nuts for the last week (in part due to an amazing first time experience with a certain lysergic tryptamine over a week ago). Then, the other day something inside my head just *clicked* and I knew something was up. I spoke to a few of my roommates, as well as the other people there tonight and two of them had similar experiences (minus the acid). Have any of you?

I like his enthusiasm when telling Wall Street to fuck off :) Funny guy.

I care about your happiness like I care about the happiness of a leech on my ass --- priceless.

This guy really is pretty funny.

Good luck to everyone involved in all of the #occupy protests. They are all too far from me for me to physically be there but my hearts with them. If any get started near enough to me I will deffinately join!

Just found out there's two more #Occupy pages on facebook for places near me. Keeping at eye on it, hopefully more people will show interest :)

I'm in the uk :)

I hope I am not being overly optimistic but it does seem that the protests have passed that point where they could have fizzled out into nothing, but on the contrary; they are growing, worldwide. These really could be defining moments for a generation.

Best wishes to all who get involved and be safe - corporations and special interests are not going to change their ways willingly. When it comes to taking back what they have built on the backs of the majority through slavery by proxy, I have no doubt they would rather go down a very dangerous path rather than give an inch.

pls protest outside the whitehouse if any real change has to happen
This represents a fundamental misunderstanding of the way the American economic/political system works. In the words of John Dewey ""politics is the shadow cast on society by big business...the attenuation of the shadow will not change the substance." Dig it?

Btw, there's an occupy DC protest that's already started and the October 2011 movement (an anti-war protest) begins this week on October 6 (I'll be heading up on the 7th). The October '11 movement is also an occupation and is located in DC's Freedom Plaza. Local churches announced they will be opening their doors to people intent on camping out.

The following pictures are from the 10-01-2011 March and Occupation of the Brooklyn Bridge, an action which resulted in the arrest of nearly 800 protesters. The entire march has been estimated to have been anywhere between 3000 and 6000 people. All pictures below the red lines are from Zuccotti Park, the headquarters/base camp of the Occupy Wall Street movement. Feel free to ask any questions about any of the pictures, there's tons of stories and background on just about all. I'm a bit tired to give descriptions for each, so I'll just describe whatever is requested. Love to you all. No matter how hard they try, they can't stop us now.

It is indeed. In addition to the numerous officers and higher-ranking police officials surrounding Zuccotti Park (along with their cars and vans) there is a surveillance tower set up on the South-East corner of the square.

The police surrounding the park were initially rather tense and standoffish with the protesters. However, now into the third week of protests, they seem mostly bored and generally don't interfere, except to make sure people don't completely obstruct the sidewalk and don't chain their bikes to various rails and fences.

The first night I was there, some of the local cops surrounded a group of "Critical Mass" bicyclists who were staging a ride through Manhattan in solidarity with OWS. A decent part of the OWS crowd ran off to help them and we saw them ride by within the next 30 minutes.

Thank you for all of the updates Snozz! My local chapter is getting together this weekend for planning of the main occupation that begins next weekend. I can't wait to be out there!
