The DMT Chord

Has anyone else ever heard a peculiar chord while on DMT? It's a dissonant chord and in timbre it sounds like a kind of electronic trumpet. The whole sound is maybe 2 seconds long and raises in pitch towards the end.

Tonight I had an experience where the music I was listening to almost disappeared, and yet I distinctly remember hearing this chord sound at least once. This was the first time I remembered it once sober, but I know I have heard it many times before. There was an entity in the room and it was admiring my guitar, it then was like "listen to the sound I can make" and it produced the chord.

I'm not sure if this sound is just an artifact of the music I listen to (I almost always use the same song), though it doesn't fit at all with the song, so I can't see it being derived from that sensory input.

I can distinctly hear it ringing in my head right now, it's just a matter of trying to determine the pitches that make up the chord (harder than it seems). I'm a musician so I guess I have a better chance than most at trying to reproduce it.

If anyone else has heard such a noise it would go a long way towards providing support for the theory that there really is more to reality than what we can normally sense and that DMT allows us to access that hidden reality. This is not an idea I have subscribed to in the past but I'm becoming increasingly convinced that something very strange is going on with DMT and that it's not just in my head.

I hear a variety of electronic arpeggio sequences, and I've heard a 4-part harmony lullaby (in which there were obviously a variety of chords) but I'm not sure if I've heard the chord you're referring to. I've also heard looping trilling in high angelic thirds. These sounds have all come from doing DMT in silence. I'd be curious if you could still manage to experience the chord when journeying in silence. Perhaps you're mixing and matching. The entity offers a tone or two, and when you combine that from the audio input you're getting from your actual music, together it creates this bizarre chord.

I can't say I have experienced this chord that you are referring to, but I have somewhat of an unrelated question. What is the song that you almost always listen to while journeying? I also have a couple of songs which I listen to very frequently during my journeys, though I do try to switch it up sometimes in the name of variety.

The song is "Keyboard Study for Essence of Pizza" by White Rainbow. It fits the aesthetic of the DMT experience perfectly I think, is not too intrusive and seems to foster more meaningful journeys, plus it's the perfect length. I've tried some other songs occasionally but it's never quite the same.

Silence can be really uncomfortable for me on DMT… The last time I tried that it was very unpleasant and tense without any frame of reference to keep me grounded.

I enjoy music on Psilocybin/LSD/Marijuana, but I feel that DMT is meant to be in silence - in my opinion, the whole point of the experience is to delve deeper within yourself and ignore the sensory input from your body.

That being said, I have heard some weird stuff while journeying with DMT. In fact, my point of reference in the DMT experience is the plethora of sound effects and "music." We all know the beautiful ringing of the carrier wave. This kicks everything off, and as the pitch rises, it turns into a very staccato, mechanical rhythm. One thing that I have noticed is that none of the DMT "music" ever has any sense of melody: it's all rhythm. The "music" is deafeningly loud during the peak of the DMT experience, but as it gradually fades away, I can feel myself coming back down, going back into the silence that I was in just before the experience.

Also, that song is very cool. 8)

I used to feel that way as well. I used to think that when people talked about "music" in hyperspace, that they were overglorifying the sounds I was hearing. However I have most certainly heard melody and harmony in hyperspace since. It is there, it just seems to be much deeper beneath the surface than some of the other sounds that "rise to the top".

Interesting song, arcologist. I like it. Like you said, it is not very intrusive, but it still maintains a certain level of gradually building intensity. I may have to add this to my "Journeys" playlist!

I don't know if I have heard the chord the OP talked about, but there was a time I had an interesting experience. It was in my earlier days of being a phsychonaut, and a very profound trip. Toward the end I heard a few distinct sources, creating a chord, and the sound emanated from my chest. The sources were like bells, I'd say about three of them, loudly ringing from my chest. It was bizarre, beautiful, and wonderful. It's one of the few clear and distinct audio hallucinations I have had.

The first time I ever took LSD, I remember sitting in my brother's bedroom listening to "Everything in it's Right Place" by Radiohead and moving the speakers around my head. My friend and I took turns doing this for probably 30 minutes or so. It was incredibly captivating at the time! :lol:

recently SWIM heard VERY complex chord progressions, something SWIM never heard before, it was amazing and unforgettable. It was prophetic, apotheotic, apocalyptic. Smoke dmt since 2008 but never listened something like that in a trip.

When I would hear the tin harp, it would feel like it was coming from my chest. It was as if it was playing on my heart strings in a number of ways.

I mostly hear metal wind chimes of very fast tempo, and something like rotating rusty bike wheel which spins very fast, but is not unpleasant as such wheel might sound, it is mellow and electronic! Argh! The words are obsolete form of communication when talking about this.

Oh, just forgot, I do hear alien electronic harpsichord sometimes.

This is why I rarely listen to any music while vaping the spice. I want to hear the sounds of the Hyperspace.

Oh the sounds of DMT! A breakthrough can be absolutely deafening for me, beginning with an electric buzzing whoosh, elevating into strange three dimensional whispers right into my ears from many voices, electronic blips and beeps, and finally at the peak just a high pitch whine, and it overcomes all ambient sound. i quit listening to music when I smoalk, because it just dissapears anyway.
