The Joys of Kava

Migrated topic.

I'm sure a lot of you are aware of the crop Kava Kava and what its uses are. I recently stumbled across this wonderful plant and decided to try some myself. It's been about a month now, and I have integrated it into my daily life. I start the day with a small dose, 1/5 of the recommended amount, and it has completely changed who I am.

Kava is used as a mood boost, sleep aid, energizer, stress-reliever, anxiolytic, relaxation aid, and/or replacement for weaning off other drugs like alcohol. I personally use it for its anxiolytic abilities and I find on days I dose in the morning, I get no anxiety throughout the day.

For the last couple of months, I have lost motivation to practice my hobbies, but since taking Kava I am back at them again. I've been eating the healthiest I ever have, I run a mile each day and play basketball, I write, I read more, and I'm more social.

This isn't the most in-depth post, but I want more people to be aware of this helpful plant. It's said to be nonaddictive and it's said there are no withdrawals. It might be useful to get rid of pre-blast off anxiety, although I think it might dull the trip, not sure.

I personally use grinded up root I bought off the internet. I put the plant matter in a glass bottle and shake for a few minutes. I strain the water from the plant matter and drink it down, very simple.

Does anyone else have any experience with Kava and would like to share?

So glad it works for you. I stopped taking it so often because I felt a pang of pain in my kidney one too many times and aint gonna risk it. Because that is how Kava deaths happen, kidney failure. These cases do exist, although extremley rare. I think Kava is amazing. The first time I took it I was in awe of the plant spirit, the essence of the thing--smiling for three hours straight, whats not to love??☺ Numb mouth? yummy. Kava and chill? Yes, most definitley!

I used tincture, root, and micro-root where you dont have to filter~~this latter one is what I stick to now.

Also its great for friends who come over but dont do anything besides weed. "You wanna get a better feeling than drunk at half the bodily cost?" Good times. People like it.

The kava study responsible for stating that it caused liver damage was conducted poorly. The sample size was small, and the kava they used was extremely poor quality stuff (it was a mix of root, stems, leaves, etc). The root is all you want, other parts of the plant will actually cause liver damage which is why you want to get your kava from a reputable source. r/Kava is somewhere I'd go to for more information about kava.

Kava is addictive, so try not to take it too often. One more thing, consider taking milk thistle if you're worried about liver health.
