A borosilicate glass tube would be better. It will be long enough and will not crack from heat
The device is inspired in part by The Machine but operates by convection heating--diffusing the heat through a ceramic heat-sink, in turn heating the airflow--rather than heating by conduction
Also is the ceramic heat-sink (heating by the airflow) better than the copper wool (heating by conduction) ? Has SWIM try them both ?
SWIM believe that the best way to make a perfect combustion of dmt is by finding out its combustion temp and with an electronic circuit (nichrome wire - thermistor) maintain that temp.
1) You shouldn't be heating your DMT anywhere near temperatures that will crack soft glass. Use boro if you want, but the application in question shouldn't present a practical difference.
2) Convection is always better than conduction when it comes to DMT.
3) The "perfect" combustion of DMT is non-combustion. Vaporize, don't combust.
A glass tube will work just fine. Any kind of glass tube, as long as it isn't ridiculously large. The purpose of the ceramic wool in the inspirator is to act as a flame filter of sorts, similar in pricipal to grossly overpriced glass vapor genie.
What about this idea. After you make the inspirator mkll, add then a resistance (nichrome wire) behind the plug. Then a button will make the resistance to get hot, then you smoke. In other words, you use a resiatance as a lighter. It would be something like e-cigar. You push the button and you smoke. Sounds good.
