One word at a time.

It sounds like your mind is already made up.

Best Wishes,

Hi Operculum:)

I can relate in a reverse fashion.

At one time I was the annoying 11yr old, my mother was in a relationship with a man that started to want different things out of life and she was unaccepting of this to the point that she was blinded to getting on with her own. I don't judge him/her anymore, and he was a decent man to start out with but because he was unhappy and I can only guess that he felt trapped and obligated, he turned into a prick and started to do things that affected everyone negatively. My point is that by moving on, you will be doing everyone a favor, not just yourself, she also deserves a good life for herself and her kid and that won't happen if you turn resentful and bitter.

Don't take this as judgy, and I respect you for sharing something that could be viewed as selfish, actually in all reality its very honest and not selfish.

Good luck:)

I agree with wap and nemesauce. If you are not happy and satisfied with the ways things are(and have no hope or desire to salvage the relationship) then they will never truly benefit from you being there. It won't be easy but if this is what you feel you should do, then you should go with it. Being unhappy and angry is no way to live.

But hey, whatever you decide to do, I wish you the best. Go with peace

:)

I don't want to tell you how to live your life, but from the sound of it I believe that you live for you, not for them. This doesn't mean you should ever harm people unnecessarily, but you shouldn't hold back the inevitable or extend the unfortunate unnecessarily either.
