Trichocereus potency testing

My experiments were from stress treatments from a foliar (true color) and ethylene gas (both have very similar results).
Now I remember - I read this post some time ago. My memory isn't great.
Do all your cacti get the same amount of sunlight? Your data is really nice and with each new addition really comes together.
Thank you.
Yes, they all get direct sun all day in the same spot. And they grow in a fairly inert medium and receive the same feed at every watering. They get as much water and fertilizer as they can handle, based on the available sun. Overall, the conditions are pretty uniform.

Thank you for the extract data. The level of effort to compile and eliminate variables shows your passion for the cacti. I also had not seen the STB toulene and back-salting posts, so I've had a good read of those which is immensely helpful.

I have several of these cultivars so the data is a useful reference even with it being oriented towards quantifying your collection. I've not really heard much about G2.

Peaked my interest that your intuition as to the potent cultivars aligned with your test results. Wonder if you have any growth characteristics that you've began to associate with potency that your testing has affirmed?

Was mia for a few months from the Nexus but was discussing grafting with a friend and after reading your process figured you may have data or an observation around the topic I was discussing.

A friend was stating that he tries to avoid grafting to not dilute alkaloid content of a potent named cultivar. We've had the opposite discussion of what would happen if you graft to a potent cultivar which I believe Transform is testing some.

I'm not confident grafting sways the content dramatically but likely the absence of stress and age being of greater influence. At least to my biased perspective.

Do you have any potency data for your cultivars without being grafted?

The potency after dormancy is another interesting factor in the complex equation which I've not thought much of but has come to mind from the thread. 🙏

Are pups just as potent as big guys?
Interesting question, although the conventional thinking goes with letting them get bigger so there's more material. My hunch is that they'll not behave in the same way as mushroom pins in terms of potency.

It would be wonderful to be wrong on this point, of course - and the way short TBMs show up potencywise could possibly be considered as a hint regarding alkaloidal content of pups.

Very likely it's best to check the pups using the VDS (iirc) microscale testing protocol with TLC, rather than immediately commiting any underdeveloped specimens to their untimely demise with no prior assurance of achieving anything much.
