Trying to improve Acacia information

Migrated topic.
thank you colour..
and no, --Shadow, i wouldn't have imagined someone who actually read the thread, or a Nexian, would act thus..
:eek:ne of my first thoughts after the initial disbelief and shock were to at least put out a plea for the trees on the nexus, as it is a relatively widely viewed platform..

The awareness is what will save acacia's in the end...
..yes..thanks for bringing the thread to it's roots..
very acacian, really..

jamie,hi and thanks..yes it is ironic..

..i really appreciate that Snozz.. and the good work you're doing out there..

Snozz and I made sure to mention the harvesting sustainability aspect during our talk at aya2014 at least a couple of times, and I noticed whenever we mentioned such things there were many nods of recognition.
..this is really good to hear..i'd have liked to have heard you talk..and thanks for reminding me of the main mission and the positive side of information..helps bring about balance..

Gowpen (good to see you)
yes, a terrible shame, you rightly say

I might be able to make 100's of people self-sufficient before I die, give a man a fish and all that.
Amen to that

i don't even know what to say.. there's something off about our scene over here with the tryptamines and I can't help but feel its intwined with the self indulgent atmosphere that is prevalent in our festival culture .. i've noticed a lot of people selling are using doof parties as an outlet to make money off of the plants

something sacred seems to be becoming increasingly disposable ... much like the nang cartridges you see littered around festival sites we see forests emptied in the name of spiritual growth.. a direct contradiction to that very notion

I think its pretty safe to say that the people who did the damage either didn't read this thread at all or didn't read it very well. Nen I think the work you've done here has raised a lot of awareness and helped people cultivate much more of an intimate and loving relationship with the trees they are working with.. i know at least that most people I am connected to these days don't even mention taking bark anymore in regards to harvest.. its all about the phyllodes and twig - and I would say that this thread has probably been the biggest contributor to this "harvest lore" .. and I am hugely thankful for all the work you have done nen

..good to see the babies cave paintings..makes me smile..
so my dismay leads to the happiness of the sight of them..and to meditations..yes i was overcome by doubt..
but it was in the very concern of such things happening that when i sat under the tree, the compulsion to begin the thread came..yes, increasing awareness as --Shadow reminded us.. (see also my last post in the ID thread)
the responses of all here affirm this..

and yes acacian thank you for your comments and nice to hear from you
..you summed things in certain sectors up well..in the pursuit to satisfy the hunger of the 'small' self the greater self, the collective union with environment, is lost..to a dark and isolated place such self indulgence leads..

..after expression comes the meditation..and we must all grow..

it's a dream in which we play our parts..we are branches of a greater tree..forms of nature..

these people suffer from their ignorance..greed not love..there's a joy they may never know..that of working in harmony with nature, and it's spirits, who'll love you back..

..what to do..? get the word out there (here) , and keep educating..

everyone who posted in response to this has been an educator, spreading knowledge for good..you truly restore my faith in the potential of humanity, all of you..and 'acacians'..onwards to the stars with you and seedlings..

with knowledge comes respect..cultures of old, placing a greater value in the sacred, knew to protect the acacia tree..forbidden it was to cut a tree in the holy deserts, or the sanctuaries..

when i worked as a tool of information the thread unfolded, looking far ahead (and before) ..but as an individual, these trees were my friends..

long may their offspring live..for future generations to love..

this song is for them..

Its atrocious, senseless behaviour, inexcusable and no doubt in pursuit of profit. A sign of the times, short term gain with no consideration of the consequences.
There is no excuse and anyone in their right mind will know that causing such harm will only result in the death and destruction of these amazing trees.
Nen, Im not being too optimistic when I say that the knowledge that you have shared will have surely made a positive and lasting impact. These may not have been saved but Im sure that many more have and will continue to be its just that we dont see the saved ones as there is nothing to bring our attention to them becuase they are healthily flourishing as they should be.

Today is a sad day. The irony is that the extracts that they will produce may well open their eyes to this destruction they have caused and may it burn into their concience. Sadly I dont think it will but if the people responsible are reading this then
SHAME ON YOU!

I hope this destruction will be a wake-up call to others that may be thinking of doing the same thing, this is a high profile thread and a high profile forum that seems to have many links with other threads and groups in the communities so lets hope this sad dessimation will be a lesson and that the discussion and information that comes out of it will spread among the entheogenic/psychedelic community and prevent the same wanton destruction happening again.

People should ask themselves next time they consider the purchase of some DMT "do i know how this was produced and from where?" Do you want to take the risk of being part of such a supply line? In law and in nature.

Reading this was like a kick in the guts and over an hour later its still hurting. I know the place too. Whoever did it was stupid, as its a low yielding tree. Could any semi-conscious person do such a thing? This looks like the work of organised crime.

Hopefully news like this is enough for Australian people to pull their finger out and really get serious about growing the trees.

I’ve been distributing many thousands of seeds from different Acacias for over a decade. Most people have been slow to see the necessity, now is a good time to use this opportunity to get people to plant these trees.

..good work Snozz..thank you very much..a pleasant surprise..!

the senselessness of such actions is robs even the perpetrators of future trees..

i resonate with you obliguhl..in this case my shock initially took me beyond anger, to almost despair..
but the acacia warrior has kicked back in..thank you for expressing..

am considering a few responses to prevent this..
(which I've edited out so there's no warning..so tree rapists be warned)

..you put that excellently DreaMTripper..thankyou for your reflections on the matter..

chocobeastie..yes it's really emotionally intense when you get to know and love trees..thanks for posting

..absolutely..

and thankfully the Nexus now has ever growing information about the cultivation of these trees..

respect to the trees..

Hello everyone,

I apologize if my post interrupts the mood of this thread, but I'm new to this forum and I could use some guidance. I'm fairly new to the topics of DMT and Acacia confuse. I actually heard about DMT from a Joe Rogan podcast. Anyways, Im interested in having a DMT experience, but I have really no clue where to start, and you all seem very active and knowledgable on this forum.

I read from a user that Acacia root bark purchased from an herbal store in that area can be grounded into powered and used in a way similar to drinking tea. Would you recommend this method for someone with no experience with DMT? I live in Taipei, and apparently these herbal shops aren't too difficult to find.

Thanks in advance.

I want to give solidarity to Nen and all acacia protectors. Sad story. I think this thread does make a positive difference, thank you for the work. You've talked before about the long term plan of the acacias, Nen. I'm sure you've seen beyond this. 😉

..thanks Meddling Monk..yes, i talked about the long term strategy of the trees..the preservation work still needs to be done, now..
beyond..yes, balance..in the end i trust..
and this thread is as much for trees as people, as both can help each other..tools of spirit..
this issue is also about protecting national parks, reserves and sacred areas..

hi & welcome mindfulness..actually i'm happy to change the mood of the thread, and go back to the appreciation of acacias and their many aspects..the wonder trees..and their spirit..

thankfully A. confusa is being plantation grown in China and Taiwan..
now there's some wisdom..

you would be best to start with The Acacia Confusa Thread, and note the 2nd post..
Tawain i like..from what i've briefly seen..

i should now say that there's no need for the root bark to be used, and in fact higher levels of dmt vs nmt were found in the stem bark (by endlessness) ..this information should further enhance sustainability in planted situations..
it is used as an anti-inflammatory in traditional medicine..it is an ancestral tree..
from across the sea..hai yuk (sea medicine)

..as i mentioned earlier, there are old traditions of protecting acacias..including in the middle east..
the tradition continues..

keep on, acacians..and trees..

now i must return to spiritual matters..

"where you come from..? where you going..?"

oh shiiit, moral outrage, quick, let's write a really wise comment to show how (...) ..

... the f do you chuckleheads think is going to happen ..

I don't know if this will help, this thread is quite long and I dont have the time to see if it has this type of information yet but this tek was done in cold water, upon shredded bark with minimal agitation. No heat was required until reduction of extraction from bark with acidified water. I think it's important because after the tek was applied, the SAME bark was THEN boiled and the tek repeated to almost NO yield. So, the cold water soaking was quite efficient at removing ALL ALKS WITHIN IT. Hope this info helps. These are some spice crystals obtained from ACRB through cold water extraction

^..thanks, locojuiceman..would fit best in the acacia extraction workspace..

it is fortunate that Acacia confusa is plantation grown, and also weed in Hawaii, making it fairly accessible to people who search..as i said before, use of stem bark enhances the long term viability of this, and stem bark is in fact often what is presented as 'acrb'..

...............................

..regarding the destruction in National Parks in Australia for other species, i feel sorry for anyone unwittingly exposed to the resulting extract..it would be vibrationally horrible..and potentially destabilising..

some fairly serious action is being taken..

this includes 'chemical spiking'..in vulnerable national park locations, a clear substance is being sprayed on larger trees which will not harm the trees or ecosystems, but will render any attempts at extraction undesirable or unusable..so national parks will become a no-go zone for this kind of activity..
..for obvious reasons i am not going to say what this substance is..a number of people are doing this..

i encourage anti tree rape activism..

there is no need to either buy dmt, or exploit the forests..
the nexus provides the necessary information for people to self empower themselves, away from the sleazy world of dealers and exploiters..and obviously 'acrb' is not difficult to come by..
anyone buying into dmt in australia (or elsewhere) has no excuse..and is supporting un-ethical behaviour..

Phalaris grass, and knowledge, will hopefully come to the rescue before too long..

this thread was about discouraging un-ethical harvesting, encouraging growing,
and highlighting that the acacia is a very special tree..treated with respect in the past..

yes the thread is long..but it's only the beginning for a true 'acacian'

please be kind to trees..

Hello everyone! If one was to substitute hexane for naphtha when doing an ACRB extract, should they get a good yield and clean, safe results? Hexane just seems much cleaner than naphtha and it's in naphtha, as well as other solvents. If anyone has knowledge about this I would greatly appreciate it....thanks

Hi wrong thread really, and do a search the information is two clicks away.

^..thanks DreaMTripper..

yes, there's a plethora of information on the nexus about how to extract with accessible materials like a.c...

acacias are a power plants in their own right..not some 'ayahuasca analogue'..and their compositional diversity is far beyond 'dmt'..we have completely unknown alkaloids in a few..

this thread's for new findings about what's in new species, to look at the diversity of species (including diversity of compounds), medicinal and spiritual uses, historical uses, to encourage sustainability, and to protect and preserve endangered species..
it's about the acacia in general..and has inspired a number of 'acacians' who take this diverse, and affectionate view..
and with that as a basis, it could go on forever..
though, as i've said before, the closer people get to the tree, the quieter they often become..

..it's also a thread where people share their experiences with acacias, growing tips, and philosophy..

my involvement in it was to try to help trees..so that people would think more about them and grow them..and hopefully become more conscious..

I can't recall if it has been asked in this thread yet or not, but is there any pattern to DMT and/or other alkaloid profiles that are characteristic of the acacia's biology?

For example, Acacia's with thin phyllodes are evolved to arid conditions where they cannot afford to lose a lot of water, therefore they build and store DMT as a half-backed plant growth hormone, ready to synthesize the moment it gets water and sun..?

Or, Acacia's that produce massive amount of seed produce more DMT during seeding period than species that don't?

Or any other alkaloids for that matter?

I guess I'm question whether or not specific alkaloids are tied to an acacias (or plant's) physical biology traits, and if so what are they to look out for?
