I had a decent dose of bridgesii resin 24 hours ago. Redosed a bit more about 2 hours after that. The resin was a new batch and still quite runny so no way to know the actual dose.

Now, 24h later I'm still not at baseline. Feeling quite stimulated and with minor visual effects. I'm not worried but curious why this has happened.

In your experience, is this normal? Do you think it could be due to a large dose? The peak was quite good but not the strongest I've had, however it hasn't lasted this long before.

No, we haven't taken anything else, nor the days before. Hard to know if besides the leftover stimulation there are other true effects, because the lingering visuals could be due to sleep deprivation.

I had a similar batch last 20 hours before but the peak was much stronger.

I've been able to sleep for about 3 hours but my friend hasn't slept at all yet.

Not really a problem, we will eventually sleep, but I would like to understand what is causing it to plan accordingly in the future and avoid it if possible.

I'm inclined to think it's due to the dose and/or whatever alkaloid mix in the resin. My friend and I are very different physically, opposite genders, have a very different lifestyle, and are from a different ethnicity. So it would be a weird coincidence if it were to be something genetic.

I don't come fully down from longer lasting psychedelics till I sleep and 3hrs might not be enough especially with something as long as cacti. So I'd guess it's both.

As for avoiding in the future you could try some melatonin, but it might not help too much. I usually dose once already sleep deprived anyways, which has an added bonus of making sleeping afterwords easier than normal

bridgesii also has maoi's. I've wondered how much is needed to activate nn-DMT..
Is this confirmed? It would make sense if that's the case.

I'm more comfortable about it now that I know it's not totally abnormal. I personally don't mind it that much, and I've felt in a very good mood and surprisingly able to do stuff despite sleep deprivation (but quite forgetful). My friend had (is still having) a much more difficult time with it, I think because she's less experienced with psychedelics. Also, maybe mescaline (or at least bridgesii resin) just doesn't sit well with her.

Next time I will probably get up very early to take it at 4 or 5 AM.
