Vaping with Syrian Rue

I would prefer however if the afterglow only last 30 mins with the chance to extend with further tokes. I am not sure if I should reduce the SR down to 2 or 2.5g or just do 3g again but take a smaller toke to make the DMT last less longer?
I think a shorter acting ROA for rue/harmalas (sublingual or smoked) could help reduce the afterglow time and the recurring waves.

doing changa is on my list, i dont have enough powder to make it at the minute. but that might be easier - esp if i can make it work in a vaporizer rather than smoking.

Vaporizing changa is not the best approach, harmalas and DMT have almost 100°C vaporization temperature gap, if your vaporizer temp is fine for the DMT, it will be sub-optimal for vaporizing the harmalas. If you have optimal temp to vaporize harmalas, it will likely burn the DMT. My favorite approach is e-cig DMT with harmalas taken separately, whether the ROA. Instead of changa, you could as well just do harmalas infused herbs (basically, a changa without DMT) and use the e-cig for DMT administration.

could i have 2 vaporizers? and 2 sets of leaf?
i suppose as i have the e vape i have carry on using that for DMT.
it just means i am using another tool to take the harmala

Does vaped harmala last similar to sub lingual or less?

Yes, this is actually doable. A vaporizer with DMT infused herbs, and another one with harmalas infused herbs. The vaporizer for harmalas herbs will need to be able to reach at least 250-260°C whereas somewhere in the 160-200°C range should be enough for the DMT. But as you said, if you already are used to e-cig for the DMT, you could keep this route and device and get a dry herbs vaporizer to vaporize separately the harmalas infused herbs.

I'd say it's more or less equivalent, but the vaporized harmalas will kick in much faster. For both effects would last about 60 to 90mn, more or less depending on the dose.
Sublingual usually requires 10/15 minutes for full absorption while it's almost instantaneous with smoked/vaporized harmalas.
Other advantage with smoked/vaporized harmalas is that it allows for a better fine tuning of the dose. You can top up as much as you want, with quick rising effects, until your reach the sweet spot.

Thanks

I wanna try changa but I have a strong bias against combustion smoking

I dont really like vapid tbh but I suck it up as it were as its the lesser of evils.

Could i just put freebase harmalas in the vape then without the leaf? but then i assume there is a point in having the left.

You could vaporize harmalas powder without herbs of course but depending on the vaporizer you're using, it might increase the risk to spoil the device as harmalas are a very thin powder and could go through mesh grid or capsule holes.
If you want to use the harmalas without infusing them on herbs, you could sandwich them between two herbs layers.

Ime sublingual FBed harmala doesn't have a strong taste, but manske salts do, intensely so lol. Maybe I'm a bit of an anomaly there? But thought to share my experience.

Myself, I don't find rue all that euphoric on its own. It opens a meditative headspace and pushing dosage higher makes it more psychedelic but with more discomfort, nausea, vomiting even, dizziness etc.

I suggest when you get the FB just put a tiny bit on your tongue and try it. If it is true freebase it has significantly less taste than salt form. But I love the long afterglow myself so we may have different tastes.

Rue is more euphoric than caapi, imo. Doses under 4g give me close to no nausea, so I can just enjoy its effects. You can feel a clear upbeat energy from rue, especially if your baseline was already a somewhat depressed state. I don't know about pure euphoria, but rue is definitely moving your psyche in that direction. If you add some dmt on top, it becomes quite clear.

It's so interesting to me how people have such different experiences. Caapi would be more euphoric than rue to me but even then not especially. A clarity and upbeatness in thinking I can definitely relate to but i more relate to it as a state of equanimity rather than euphoric. Once DMT is added then euphoria can become more obvious to me.

Yes, the word "euphoric" is kind of misleading when it comes to harmala plants. I'd rather name it something like "well-being".
True euphoria is what I had on mushrooms and acacia brews. It's a different, all-consuming feeling. Then "euphoria" doesn't do it justice either and "bliss" would fit even better. I'd say you can fully surrender into bliss, even if it means your total annihilation.
That's why it's of an even higher order than euphoria.

Not to derail the thread, but

I have sat with various Brazilian tribes with Ayahuasca

I assume they both use the traditional ayahuasca vine and chacruna leaf.. although it is probably relevant that I read the makeup of these plants can vary plant to plant and these tribes dont live in exactly the same region so there could be variation there (although they are in the same state in brazil).

Huni Kuin - I get very colourful visuals - often followed by euphoria/bliss - usually the music is playing by this point. I don't get that tired.

Noke Koi - their stuff can be very tiring. Not as visual and no euphoria - normally I am fighting to stay awake. I have also seen them make their aya - its literally chuck plants into a big pot and boil them.

There is definitely a difference in the way these tribes make their medicine because i can taste it. my assumption is that he NK are more vine heavy because it tastes much more woody - and I suppose it makes sense that the vine makes you tired and the DMT gives you more visuals.

I have done DMT on my own using a Vape and the visuals I get are more immersive than above, but different.

I've only does DMT with the MAOI as discussed above once but again its a different physical feeling - although as mentioned the amount I took is probably not comparable.

So basically not much rhyme or reason to it so far. My assumption is that the euphoria comes from the MAOI but you need the right amount and possibly the right one.

I am wondering is all DMT the same? e.g mine is from mimosa - would the freebase from chacruna be different even though it should be the same chemical by that point?

I agree. Strong doses of caapi will make you sleepy to the point that you cannot fight it. Even a so-called "death" experience comes from it. If your dose of harmalas is too high, it can feel like your body is physically dying.

Once again, vaping will always feel different. Just think of normal bodily functions. The lungs are designed to rapidly transfer oxygen into the bloodstream. No wonder vaping dmt feels like jet fuel was injected into your system. Oral absorption is much slower, yet it lasts longer. Air and food serve different functions and are absorbed in different ways. I'd argue that oral consumption is healthier, because your dmt goes through organic filtering of your digestive tract. I'm biased, though.
My assumption is that the euphoria comes from the MAOI but you need the right amount and possibly the right one.
I'd say it's both, actually. It's hard to use words because they are not exact. We just assume that a word points to the same thing. So the term "euphoria" is misleading somewhat. Still, I think a medicinal brew acts as one.

I think they will all feel slightly different. Even two batches of mimosa are not the same. Given the nature of the experience, can you really tell the difference? Even knowing where it came from will be an influence. I feel thinking that you are working with plants here (mimosa, acacia, chaliponga) is still beneficial. It's just a more wholesome pointer than saying it's just dmt. You have extracted from mimosa, so it's a mimosa medicine. In the same way, if I like to eat meat, I'd not say that chicken meat is the same as wild deer meat.

I cant lie and say I am not chasing the feeling I get from Huni Kuin, even though I am not going to drink actual aya at home

But I suppose I could try and play with their ingredfients - are the moment I am using mimosa/syrian rue - I could later experiment with caapi and chacruna to see if its any different

Never chase the rainbow. Psychedelic experiences can't really be replicated, especially the mystical ones. Dry plants from the net will never be the same as freshly prepared ayahuasca. If you believe in life energy and the skill of your cook, it can't really be replicated at home either.

Better be honest with yourself. You're working with mimosa & rue. That's a different combo, but it's still a medicine. Plants love respect, and seeking aya from rue will never bear a proper result. Keep your eyes open for the medicine you work with. They all have value and their place in your life. Anyhow, a big part of this work is your own relationship with your chosen plants. It's like a family affair that way.
