You can smoke freebase in the VG but I'd put a layer of herb under it for it to melt onto so it doesnt just fall through the screen
 
To smoke plain freebase out of the GVG you need to outfit a screen/mesh similar to what Gibran2 shows in this post.

Once you've fashioned the mesh, soak it in acetone to remove any manufactures oils and you're good to go.

If you vaporize properly there will be no smell afterwards.
 
A copper mesh disc or a cut to size Volcano liquid pad works great for pure DMT with no bleed through (if installed properly)

I only smoke crystal/powder DMT in my GVG and use a regular pipe or bong for changa.
 
Regarding the smell there is minimal smell when from the vapour when it crystalises inside, it isn’t too bad tho, my bag doesn’t smell of it. After cleaning it there will be no smell at all, and it will be as good as new :)

Regarding screens/meshes for freebase, I’m using a screen, with a mesh on top like described in the post by Gibran (about 2mm thick) then another mesh on top, also 2mm, but with an indentation so the spice stays in a nice orderly pile in the centre.
 
Its only because I could only afford one, and its for both my girlfriend and I. She's a weed smoker, but doesn't want to do spice. I was assuming it'd be mostly used for MJ, and possibly I could use it for spice every once in a blue moon...Melodic, yes, that filter is what I have in my machine, and I was not aware that one could insert one into a GVG, but I will have to give it a try...once vaped, I was hoping I could remove the copper scrub, and continue use as a mj vaporizer...If one were to vaporize efficiently enough, it should leave no smell/aftertaste, right?

It will definitely leave smell after dmt unless you clean it with alcohol after use. The reason for it is that you don't use all the spice some of it will crystallize inside your GVG and that's why you will smell it weather you like it or not. More you smoke it more crystals left in GVG and therefore more smell of it.But if you clean after few uses it will be fine. Alcohol is perfect for cleaning GVG.
 
I mean, it wouldn't be too hard to do something like that, yeah? Clean it out, hit some spice, clean it out again before girlie gets home, smoke some MJ.....I mean, as far as vaping reg weed, how does this apparatus compare with other vaporizers? I read the site's descriptions, but I'd rather here REAL testimony...
 
its glass its inert...soak it in w.e solvent you want and rinse it well and it will be odorless. I recommend d-limonene as it seems to work well as a degreasing soak and it isnt rank.

Do you mean generally any herb or just spice ? Don't know about other that spice. I only use it for spice and in my opinion it is the best I have ever used. I tried bong with herbs and also the machine but GVG is definitely big time winner.

What I heard from others to its also perfect for vaping any other herbs. I have not tried that but I will :)
