[WANTED] New forum Banners

Migrated topic.

Tremendous job, guys. I wouldn't like to be in Trav's shoes if he actually has to choose only one. Again, the surprise factor in the random rotating top banner is a nice extra treat for the community :)

I finally had some time to contribute, leaving it here.

Keep them coming!

I agree about the whole rotating its great, really appreciate all the different ones and think it should stay on constant rotation, and great work mate liked seeing yours the other day!

Thank you, Infinite I :)

I really like finding ways to contribute to the site that do not require skills I do not possess, such as decent chemical knowledge, extensive assay experiences and so on. I hope to be able some day to share with you guys significant information or findings. I'd love that, I've always needed to contribute in order to feel okay in any community.

So, in the meantime, noob-friendly initiatives are welcome. They are a nice outlet for this need to bring something.

Also, thanks again to MC for the banner gallery thread.

I really like it, smokerx. Great use of color. Makes me want to take a second and a third look at it. And reminds me of my last changa experience :)

I have noticed that all of you are spelling "University" with capital "U" so I have changed it just in case it was not grammatically correct ;)

nodice, your first one is among my favorites now. very well done.

one banner for every sub-forum would be the way to go imo. too many good ones now.

Here's an idea that came to me in hyperspace. I'm not sure about the colors yet or the icons on the left, so any suggestions are appreciated.

EDIT: Added higher resolution with a background that fits better with forum theme

I have to say, daedaloops, I liked the blue BG better! So many good banners, but this one so far is my favourite (with the blue BG 😉 ) because it most closely replicates the colours, contrasts and forms of a lot of my visits to "t'otha playse".

If I am to be hypercritical though, the haloing around the letters (particularly the smaller letters) is a TAD too strong, and the symbols to the left could be less "cutout" looking and more "mysterious" - whatever that means... hard to put into words... the rest of it looks so strange but carefully put together, but the beaker etc kind of looks tacked on and to cartoony (or not cartoony enough? vague, I know, that's why I am neither a graphic designer nor a critic!!)

I meant to ask, what IS the bottom symbol? The one to its left? Salvia leaves?

Good one though, and good ones all the rest of you!

cheers,

JBArk

Hey thanks I really appreciate the help! I was actually just gonna create a more polished and sparkly looking version of it, so I'll definitely add your suggestions to it now (first I have to figure out what they mean lol).

The bottom symbol is a mayan symbol, but I realized it wasn't that well known so I already decided to change it, maybe into a yin-yang? Something that could represent the root chakra. Also I made a few other changes.

And the leaves are psychotria viridis.
